    I've always been a veggies girl. Worked an acre an a half garden by myself when I was beginning teaching in order to put away food for the year since my $5280/yr salary didn't get me through the year alone. Now at 72 yrs old I've graduated to flowers! Ha!

    I don’t grow anything because my cousin threw handfuls of worms at me when we were kids. I still have worm issues to this day. They scare the daylights out of me. But if I could garden, I would want to grow lots of flowers and veggies!

    So hard to decide! I grow vegetables (eggplant and okra are coming off now; tomatoes soon) and flowers and herbs. The flowers give me the most joy! The vegetables and herbs make me feel healthy. :)

    I love the idea of a garden, but the truth is all I plant are zinnias because they are pretty and hard to kill. Actually, to be honest the past couple of years my daughter has taken over planting them for me...what a blessed mom I am.

    I have 10 rose bushes lining my driveway...so flowers are a given. But I love growing TOMATOES!!!
