You would waste that lovely combo on this quilt. I think the scale of fabric patterns on #2 is good for this design but really do not think the white dot would work well. You are going to end up with these beautiful open spaces ripe for some awesome quilting and the dot would end up competing with it. Plus the dot doesn't seem to have the same "feel" as the other fabrics in the grouping. You could do a soft solid pink or to give it a bit more life, use a light lime green for setting triangles and the grey for the background. Would totally give the more traditional fabrics a different spin!! I like both Option 1 and 2 but recommend using a background fabric that doesn't have a dominant print. It may drive you nuts if when putting your pieces together the print doesn't line up. The grunge background in Option 1 would be perfect!
