So you might recall a year ago I shared a quilt top for the Wandering Fabrics blog tour. At the time I said "pattern coming soon". Famous last words right :) Well, it took me a while to quilt, and then I got the pictures done, and was about to start working on the pattern, when I just felt like something was missing. So I sat on it for a while. And it wasn't until just recently when I pulled out the designs again and started playing with it that I decided it needed some cornerstones, or should I say cornerstars!!! I drafted it up in EQ and loved it!!! It was just what it needed. So now I have new Wishes quilts in the making. Pattern Coming Soon, wink, wink :)
Which is all a very long introduction to saying I now can share these two original Wishes that I have renamed Wish on a Star quilts!! I love that these are now just fun finishes to share and my daughter has already claimed this for her bed, so that makes me smile too!!! So without further ado, here is my Wish on a Star queen size quilt!!
Aren't those colors just so pretty. Unfortunately, they are a little hard to photograph as they are all so light, but they are just so soft and gorgeous. Don't they just look like twinkling stars at night. So fun!!! When I release the pattern, (hopefully soon) it will still be the same block construction, just with a little bonus and it is Fat Quarter Friendly. So no worries if you want to make this quilt, just give me a little time :)
And don't you just love the texture in the picture above!!! I had some fun with the quilting of this one and just love the way it turned out. I did all over traveling feathers in the background, Ribbon Candy and Wishbones in the lattice prints, and pebbles and straight lines in the center star. I just love how it makes it shine all the brighter :)
This is a queen size quilt, but it only takes 16 blocks so that is fun and fast!!! And I am just thrilled my daughter is loving it. We just repainted her room to have a coastal feel and these colors match really great. Although I should mention, she wants me to make an improv wave quilt in solids, but she is happy this temporarily matches until I can make her a new one ;) Gotta love it!!!
I also made a baby size that I just think is so cute!!! You all know how I love making Baby Quilts!!! I just love how fast and fun they are to make and yet you get such an adorable finish ;)
I used Rifle Paper Company's Wonderland fabric for this design and I just love the bright happy colors and how they pop on that grey background. I really am loving using colored backgrounds, especially for baby quilts, so fun!!!
And I just quilted this with an all over open centered swirl and I love how they look like little bubbles. This is a favorite quilting design and it really is relaxing just swirling all over the quilt.
So those are my Wish on a Star quilts and I am so glad I am finally sharing them. And I hope to have the new Wishes quilts done and ready to share soon. (as in less than a year, tee hee hee ;)
I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!
