Christmas Round Up of Years Past :)

So things have been a little quiet :)  You know, it is just that time of year where I enjoy lots of  family time with all things Christmas.  I have squeaked in a little stitching here and there, but school is out soon, so there won't be much more going on until the new year.   Which means, that Holiday Sale I spoke of at the end of November, will probably be a Ring In the New Year Sale now ;)  So anyhow, I wanted to still share something . . . so for today, I thought why not share a little Christmas Quilting Round-Up with some of my favorite Holiday Projects from Years Past ;)

This is Ribbons and it is a fun lap size quilt made using a Jelly Roll Race technique.  It is fantastic for a quick Christmas Quilt and there is a tutorial for it here ;)

We just love having our happy Monochromatic Stockings each year!!   My tree matches with lots of happy bright ornaments, and truly, it all just makes me smile. I did a  tutorial here for these stockings that would work in Festive Christmas Prints or Happy Monochromatic colors like mine.  My kids just love that they are on the large side ;)

This O Christmas Trees lap size quilt was a fun improv project with just a tiny bit of paper piecing.  It is a great way to introduce yourself to paper-piecing if you want to give it a try.   And I had so much fun quilting this one ;)  You can find a tutorial for it here.

This Christmas Traditions Advent Calendar is a throw back from quite a few years ago.  My children still enjoy lifting the flaps and finding a special Christmas activity to do each day of the month.  This was featured at the Moda Bake Shop and you can find the tutorial here ;)

I made up this adorable Hot Hot Chocolate Table runner a few years back and it now fits perfectly on my new kitchen counter.  I just love it and I especially love when we have our Hot Chocolate Bar each year with all the toppings in little bowls on this runner.     I made this as part of the Winter Wonderland Book tour that the mug block can be found in and the book can be found here.

Spinning or Spiraling was a Bee Block quilt from way back.  I designed the block and then had my wonderful bee mates each make a block.   It also happens to be made from my all time favorite Christmas fabric line, Countdown to Christmas by Sweetwater by Moda.  I wish I could go back in time and stash a whole ton of it ;)    There is a tutorial for this quilt here.

This Joyful Jelly Roll Tree Skirt was so much fun to make and then Barbara did her feather magic on the quilting!!!   It has now found a Happy Home under Barbara's Christmas tree :)  The design is by Fat Quarter Shop and the pattern can be found here.

Christmas Collection is another favorite, fun, fast quilt!!!  I took all my favorite basic building blocks like 4 Patch, HST, QST, and a Solid block and mixed them all up to make a fun quilt that really shows off the Festive Prints.   And it totally looks like a classic cheater print, love that!!!  There is a Free Tutorial for this quilt here ;)

And last, but certainly not least, I made this Classic Christmas quilt a few years ago and love bringing it out each year.  It is made with Christmas Figs and it combines basic patchwork stars with some simple patchwork block borders.   It really does just have that classic Christmas feel ;)   There is a Free Tutorial for this quilt here ;)

And that is my Christmas Quilting Round of years past :)   I hope you found a project that you might like to add to your Christmas Project List for years to come ;)

Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!

Rainbow Petals

Remember that stack of Rainbow Scraps I shared last week . . .

Well now it is a gorgeous stack of Rainbow Petals!!!  I am so excited that I got this all cut out and can start piecing on it first thing 2022 :)   There is just something about piecing with a rainbow of scraps that is so incredibly happy making!!!  And I love that using any kind of rainbow layout really helps to balance your scraps so wonderfully :)

I used the brand new AccuQuilt GO! Prairie Star BOB Die  to make short work of this cutting ;)   I have always wanted to make a Prairie Star quilt, and now it is truly going to happen in 2022.   My design for this quilt has over 900 pieces in it, so talk about busting some serious scraps!!!   I can't wait to share more of what I have planned for this :)  It's going to be so scrap happy!!!

So how about you . . . do you like piecing scrappy rainbows???

2 Charming Totes for Christmas!!

Charming Tote's just make the cutest Christmas Presents!!!   So excited to get these 2 totes in the mail for two very special people :)   I just love whipping up these totes, and have totally lost track of how many I have made to this point.  If you haven't made one yet, you can pop over here for the free step by step tutorial to whip one up yourself ;)  All you need is a Charm Pack and 2/3 Yard of a coordinating print.  But seriously, grab a few charms, because you can't make just one ;)

The first  Charming Tote is in Gingham Foundry by My Mind's Eye for my Twin Sister.   When she was last visiting she mentioned how handy my tote was, so of course, I instantly figured I needed to make her one.   And I love the sophistication of this line, making it perfect for work for her.

The second  Charming Tote is for my Mom ;)    I choose to make it in Notting Hill by Amy Smart, because she was born in England and lived there as a young child.  So of course, the cabbage roses, vintage drawings of English landmarks, and tiny British flags are just perfect for her!!

And since these are for "super special people", I made them Deluxe :)  I added in some pockets in the lining, a small key chain holder, and put a strip of batting in the handles for extra comfort.  It only takes a second to add in these little features and I know they will be so super helpful to them both :)

Now to get these in the mail :)   Homemade Merry Christmas is always so fun!!!

So do you have someone special you want to make a Charming Tote for??  Pop over here for the free step by step tutorial

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting (and Merry and Charming) Weekend!!!
