Charming Baby Sampler Remake

 So I am teaching my Charming Baby Quilts Sampler as a Block of the Month for our local quilt guild, here in Cedar City ;)   Which means, I need to make some samples along the way to teach.  So that equals a new Charming Baby Quilts Sampler!!!   Now, I just need to decide on the fabric.   It's always our favorite part right, so many fabrics, so little time :)    I know I want to make one with a dark background so . . . . 

I started with the idea of a Navy Background and then picking some Stashed Charm Packs that all had navy in them.  I would not use the navy prints for the piecing, and then get a whole bunch of happy and bright colors that all tie into the Navy.   So that is Option 1.  

But then I remembered this awesome Royal Quilt that I made a while back, and realized I have 2 Luster Jolly Bars and a Charm Pack that would just look awesome on my favorite purple backing.   I have been wanting to make another purple background quilt for a while, and this just might be it.   So that is Option 2.  

But then, I thought, don't forget Low Volumes.  I just finished a little secret sewing with Fancy That Design House's new Slow Stroll and had a bunch of low volumes left from it and if I paired that with her low volumes from her first line Songbook, it could be oh so pretty!!!  And on a Lead Grunge Background, love!!  So that is Option 3.  

And of course . . . I can't decide which I like best.   So could you help a friend out :)  What is your favorite  . . . .  Option 1 Scrappy and Happy,   Option 2 Purple and Striking ,   or Option 3 Low Volume Grunge Goodness.   Comment below ;)

Heartfelt Quilt Along - Buttercup Blocks

 It's Month 2 of the Heartfelt Quilt Along and I am just loving making these Heart Blocks!!!  This is Fat Quarter Shop's 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along and they are always my favorite :)     The 1st Friday of each month will be a new release for blocks and today are the Buttercup Blocks.   And how fun are these in scrappy goodness!!!

I am such a huge fan of the Graphite Cross Weave background with my Flirt fabrics by Sweetwater.  I just love how the prints just really pop on it, and I also love the bonus texture it adds to the project!!!   I am just so excited to see this one come together!!! 

So are you joining in with the Heart Felt fun???   You can download the block pattern right here and it is requested for each pattern you download to donate $5.00  to the Make a Wish Foundation :)  And I am super excited to say that even though it has just started,  Fat Quarter Shop's annual charity QAL has already raised over $69,000!!!  The goal is $1000,000 which will allow for 16 wishes to be granted.  How awesome is that!!!  And Moda Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop have joined to match up to $30,000 :)  So many amazing wishes :)

Jelly Sizzle Short Cut Quilts!!

 I am super excited today to share some more Short Cut Quilt finishes!!!  You all now how much I love to make the Short Cut Quilts so when Fat Quarter Shop asked if I wanted to make their latest Short Cut quilt called  Jelly Roll Sizzle, it was an absolute yes!!!    And how fun is this quilt!!   

Jelly Roll Sizzle goes together super fast and it comes in multiple size options.  This is the Twin Size, but there is also a crib, lap, and a queen size available.  And as you can tell by the name, it is Jelly Roll Friendly ;)  You can find the free pattern right here , grab a Jelly Roll, and get started right away!! 

 And you all know that I love to make quilts for my Alma Mater, SUU,  so a Modern Paper Jelly Roll   paired with lots and lots of red scraps from my stash were just perfect for this project!!!  And don't you just love the pop of the pinwheels!!!  I did them in solid Black as well as the binding, and it just looks so great on the scrappy background ;)  

When it came time to quilt it, I opted for some fun custom quilting!!  I quilted pebbles in the pinwheels and I love how the red thread just pops on them :0  Then I alternated between wishbone and ribbon candy on the stripes.   This quilt was oh so much fun to quilt!!  

And I had so much fun with the first, I couldn't stop and whipped up a Jelly Roll Sizzle quilt in the crib size!!  Isn't it just so cute ;)   I had this Junior Folktale Jelly Roll from my Sew Sampler Box and it had the perfect amount of strips for the crib size, so of course, it was totally meant to be!!  

And it turned out just so adorable!!!  And I used some Dear Stella Hearts that I had stashed away for the pinwheels and they just turned out oh so adorable ;)  Oh, and I have to say,   I totally love this size quilt for wrapping over baby in the car seat :)

And this one I quilted with an all over loose feather.   This design goes so fast, and with such a small quilt, I think I spent more time loading the quilt on the long arm then I did actually quilting it ;)  To funny!!!   But it came out just so soft and pretty!!!

And those are my Jelly Roll Sizzle quilts!!!   And I just have to say again how much I love, love, love Short Cut Quilts!!!     Thanks Fat Quarter Shop for another great one and be sure and watch the video tutorial for an easy step by step demonstration of making this quilt!!!
