New Scrap Fabric and Thread Storage!!!

So, my scraps were past the point of no return.   I had been squishing them in their drawers for months and couldn't take them spilling out of the tops any longer . . . So . . . new Scrap Fabric Storage!!!!   (gotta love Amazon!)  And I am so excited!!!!   When I was looking for new storage, my biggest desire was more drawers so I could break up my scraps more . . .and so ya, I totally went for lots and lots of drawers!!!

EDIT - many of you have asked for the link to where I got these on amazon, sorry, should have added that in the original post ;)

This is the 15 Drawer Rolling Cart and this is the 10 Drawer Rolling Cart that I ordered 2 of.     Hope that is helpful :)

So now I have my print fabrics all broken down by color including bins for coral, teal/aqua, and navy.  I just love how much easier it is making it to find just the print fabrics I am looking for in my scraps ;)

Then I have a whole organizer of neutrals.  Love, Love, Love!!!  I can keep my black/whites separate from the black drawer and the white drawer.   And I even made a low volume one color drawer, and a low volume multi color drawer.    And they even sent me an extra drawer which now holds all of the bindings waiting to be sewn on, so perfect!!!

And finally, my new favorite organization from the new scrap storage system, solids by color!!!!   I have always had my solids just mixed in with my prints, and I would think I had more of a certain color than I actually did because of how many solids were in the drawer.  And I am so happy to have them separate now.   I can't wait to make an all solid scrap project, it is going to be so great and easy to find what I need!!!

And since, I was having so much fun with my scraps of fabric, I figured I might as well organize the thread as well!!!  Before all of these were tossed in a basket and I could never see if I had the color I needed.   My girls had so much fun making the rainbow as they organized these on the wall for me.   And I just love how easy it is to find exactly what I need :)

So yup, my Spring Cleaning was actually Summer Organizing for the Sewing Room, but I just love these new additions and can't wait to get scrap sewing with ease ;)

I hope you are all having a very Happy Quilting Day!!!!

Twinkle Toes Table Runner- HQM Quilt 16

It is Week 16 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and we have more Christmas in July!!!  And I am super lucky that I had a very small Christmas Project waiting to be done, because I have barely been home this last week, and I just managed to squeak this one in before my weekly deadline ;)   I started this Twinkle Toes Table Runner back in Feb of last year, and for something so small, It puts a big smile on my face to have it done!!!

I love Chriastmas, and just like last week . . . I love Sweetwater's Christmas lines!!!  This one actually used the scraps from my  Red Barn Christmas  fabrics that I used to make my Starlite Christmas Sampler quilt.    And I just loved the way it turned out.  So simple, and so festive at the same time!!!

This Twinkle Toes table runner is actually made using the Sparkle Star Foundation Paper from Fat Quarter Shop.  I had some leftover after making my Twinkle Toes quilt, and thought it was just perfect for a table runner.  This Runner finishes at 18" x 52" and will be such a fun addition to my Dining Room table this Christmas :)

When it came time to quilt it, I decided to have some fun with some matchstick quilting.   I always love a table runner that has been quilted this way, it just gives it so much texture!!!  And it was great to change out the colors of threads to match the prints.   And I have to say, I loved doing this on the Infinity HQ, because the throat space was wide enough to fit the whole runner without having to roll it forward or back, so I had just quilted away and it was done in no time at all!!!

And now this table runner has joined  my collection of Christmas decor and I can't wait for December!!!   I just love Christmas Quilty Goodness and I love that I get to celebrate it in July as well as December :)  Quilters totally have it right on with Christmas in July ;)

And that is Quilt #16 - Twinkle Toes Table Runner ;)  16 Down and only 10 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   Almost to single didgets left!!!!

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!

Midnight Crossing- HQM Quilt 15

It is Week 15 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and I am keeping with the Christmas in July theme!!!  I actually have three Christmas Projects in this little marathon, and the first is this Midnight Crossing quilt!  So festive!!!

I always love making Christmas Quilts ;)     I used a favorite Merry Stars Here  Fat Quarter Bundle  by Sweetwater.  I always love Sweetwater's Christmas lines, I think it is the pop of black so fun!!!     I have sewn with countless Christmas lines by Sweetwater.  lines :) I just always love the way they turn out, and this one is no exception!!!

This Midnight Crossing pattern is actually a Halloween design by Fig Tree Quilts, but I love it in Christmas.  Isn't it funny how they almost look like present :)  I actually enlarged the block so this finishes at 92" x 92" making it a great Christmas Quilt to go on the Guest bed (which is my daughter's room that she gives up when company comes, she's so sweet that way!!!)  But it's always great when Company comes for Christmas gathering!!!

When it came time to quilt it, I decided to just go with an all over loose feather.  I just love how soft and pretty this design it, and it looks like branches of fir trees :)  And of course, I used  my favorite 402 thread so it blended just perfectly in both the black prints and the white background ;)

And now this quilt has joined my collection of Christmas quilts!!!   I don't even want to count how many there are . . . but it's all good, because  I just love that each Christmas Season we can deck the halls, the rooms, the sofa's and anywhere else I can find with Christmas Quilty Goodness  :)

And that is Quilt #15 - Midnight Crossing ;)  15 Down and only 11 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   These next few weeks are a little crazy so here is hoping I can keep up!!!!

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!
