In Stitches - HQM Quilt 18

 It is Week 18 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and l am excited to share this fun little finish!!!   This was a quilt that I made from my August 2021 Sew Sampler Box and I just loved it as soon as I saw the pattern.  I whipped up the quilt top within a week of it arriving, and it has sat and waited since then, seriously, I am sad to admit that.  But that is why I needed this kind of Marathon, right!!!  And happy day, it's all done!!!!  

So many of Lori Holt's fabrics are just so adorable!!!  I love the vintage feel to them, and they go perfectly with this fun pattern of basic stitches.   Just so cute,   This quilt was made using a Stitch Jolly Bar (Half of a Layer Cake) and is going to make the cutest little baby gift.   

And yes, this is an exclusive pattern, but there is a free pattern that comes with the Stitch Jolly Bar and it is equally cute!!!   My In Stitches quilt finished at So mine finished at 52" x 60" so it makes a nice lap size quilt or a large baby quilt that is perfect for transitioning into the toddler years. 

When it came time to quilt it, I decided on a classic.   All over echoed paisleys for the win.   Simple and yet so fun for giving lots and lots of texture!!   And shocking but true, this is not 402 thread, it is actually 403 So Fine, my go to color for cream backgrounds ;) little pop on all of the piecing ;)  

And now this In Stitches quilt is ready to loved!!!  I just need another sweet friend to have a baby, luckily there area always lots of special deliveries arriving in the neighborhood as of late.  Maybe it is something in the water, tee hee hee ;)  

And that is Quilt #18 - All the Trimmings ;)  18 Down and only 8 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   Wow, it is really getting closer!!!

Heart Felt Quilt Along - Quilt Top!!!

 It's Month 7 of the Heartfelt Quilt Along and I am just so excited because today we get to see it all come together!!!  This is Fat Quarter Shop's 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along and they are always my favorite :)  Today's release is for the  Quilt Top Layout  and how fun is this!!!  Love, Love, Love :) 

I just love seeing all of that Graphite Cross Weave bordering all of the blocks made with Flirt fabrics by Sweetwater .   I have been so waiting for this day to see it all come together and it did not disappoint!!!  Now I can't wait to get it all quilted up :)

July Sew Sampler Box!!!

July has come and gone, but that doesn't mean I didn't get an amazing Sew Sampler box in the mail!!!  (it just meant I wasn't home to get it from the mail, tee hee hee :)   But I am home now, and finally catching up from being gone most of July . . . so, today is  Sew Sampler Goodness day!!  And oh did I love this July Seas the Day Box!!!  

I was thrilled to find a gorgeous Petite Layer Cake of Nantucket Summer by Camille Roskelley.   I have already made a secret project from this line and can say it is just gorgeous!!  How can you not just love the beautiful blues and greens in this line, just so calming!!!  And this Sail Away pattern is so cute :) 

And the notions that  Fat Quarter Shop sent along this month are so great and so very helpful!!!! Of course, the Half Rectangle Trimming Template to go with the pattern was a must!!!   But I just love the adorable Sailboat Enamel Charm to go with it :)  And I love the idea of a magnetic pin tin, especially for when I am traveling and teaching.  I can't tell you how many times my pin case lid has come off in the bottom of my bag.   And Magic Pins, so fun!!  

And alas, as I wasn't home most of July . . . I am now four month's behind on the Bliss Quilt Along for this years Sew Sampler boxes.    Here is hoping I figure out soon if I am going to get the  Bliss Quilt Along kit featuring Stitched Fabrics by Joanna Figueroa or if I just go scrappy.  Either way, I know I need to get started soon or this might be one of those projects that fall by the wayside, and it's to cute to have that happen :)

All The Trimmings - HQM Quilt 17

 It is Week 17 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and we have one more Christmas in July!!!  And I am so excited to share this finish!!!    This was a mystery quilt along that I did last year with Fat Quarter Shop and I had so much fun making the quilt top!!!    And I can't help but smile at the finish, it is just so happy making!!!

Christmas Fabrics are oh so fun, and paired with a Black Grunge background, talk about pop!!!  I used Lella Boutique's Christmas Morning Fabrics for this project and I just love the happy prints in this line.   They are so cheery and festive and again, pair so nicely on the Black Grunge background :)   This is the quilt I will be donating to Festival of Trees this year and I think it will be a nice Modern Twist on all of the Christmas quilts ;)  

All of the patterns for the blocks are still available from Fat Quarter Shop.  The original quilt is a baby size, but I just made additional blocks to make mine larger.   So mine finished at 66" x 72" so it makes a nice lap size perfect for snuggling up in for Christmas ;) 

When it came time to quilt it, I decided on a classic.   All over swirls for the win.   Simple and yet so fun for giving lots and lots of texture!!   And I used a nice charcoal colored thread that blended great in the background and gives a nice little pop on all of the piecing ;)  

And now this All the Trimmings quilt is ready to be donated and loved!!!  And seriously, this totally makes me want to make another Christmas quilt with a black background.   Not near as traditional but wow, what a statement piece it makes when it is done :)  And what a way to finish up Christmas in July!! 

And that is Quilt #17 - All the Trimmings ;)  17 Down and only 9 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   I made it to Single Digits!!!
