Summer Solstice Quilt-A-Long - Parade and Grand Prizes!!!

First off,  I would like to say Thank You to all of you who quilted-a-long with me.  This has been such a wonderful and successful Quilt-A-Long and that is because of each of you.  I loved reading how so many of you were quilting along for the first time and really stretching outside your comfort zone to try new things, especially with those curves.  That is what Quilt-A-Longs are all about!!   I loved seeing each of your individual creativity come out in this pattern, truly amazing.   And now, you all have absolutely beautiful finishes to show for all of your hard work.

And speaking of finishes . . . Did you happen to see that there are 42 of them!!!   That is totally awesome!!   You all are the greatest to Quilt-A-Long with!!!  To see these 42 quilt tops just pop on over here and check out the links at the bottom of the post.  They are absolutely amazing!!!     And if you want to see everyone's progress along the way, you can check out the  Happy Quilt-A-Long Flickr Group or visit the #summersolsticequiltalong.  It was so much fun to watch each of your quilt tops come together as we took this journey together :)

One more thing before we get to the parade, if you are just popping over and finding the Summer Solstice Quilt-A-Long for the first time, or just want an easy reference for the future, you can find all of the Tutorial Posts for the Summer Solstice Quilt-A-Long at any time under the Quilt-A-Long tab at the top of my blog.  You can also reference the following links here :)

Alright, Let's get to the Parade!!!! So Fun!!!   First off, I have to apologize that you didn't have a whole lot of time to quilt and bind your projects.  I knew I was going to be out of town for the next two Thursday's and wouldn't have been able to do this post, so you all had about a week less to finish your quilts than we have had  in the past.   So we don't have a whole ton of finishes which is my fault . . .  but we still have some and they are amazing!!!!!!

Several of you worked your little tails off to get these done in time and I am so excited for you!!!    A huge round of applause for these amazing finishes!!!  So here they are :)  You can click on the name (if it is underlined) to go to that persons individual link site and see more about their project :)

  6. Well done you people who finished their quilts so quickly. They all look amazing.
I admit to finding the 16 blocks of drunkards path slow going, but I did eventually get the top done. Quilting it is next on my agenda. I am so happy to now be able to sew the curves in my sleep though. Thanks so much Melissa. You are the best QAL host ever. Next time a couple of extra weeks to get the quilting done would be wonderful.

  9. Put together the back today, it took every leftover piece of the fat quarters I had, and man, is it BIG. I'm a little concerned about all the seams but with 64 squares per large block times 9 plus sashing, what's a few more on the back of the quilt. It was a great QAL. I admit my brain fizzled out a few times trying to get the inside, surround and corner squares to match up. Thank heavens I took some photos of my intended layout and had your help to sort it all out. I'm still sewing up extra drunkard's paths. They are my enders and leaders right now, and I don't know what I'll do with them when I get them all sewn but I just couldn't waste all the precision cutting. Thanks so much, I learned a lot.
