If it is clothing I tend to wait and press it just before I am about to put it on. I sure do recall my mom putting a little flower sprinkling top on a coke bottle full of water to sprinkle Dad's shirts, then she putting them in a bag in the refrigerator overnight on Mondays (laundry day) to iron on Tuesday.
