Nordic Nights - HQM Quilt 25

It's Week 25 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and I am excited to share another Happy Quilting Marathon Quilt.   And wow, this one was pushing to get it done this week and I quilted, and bound the entire queen size quilt today, but I am super thrilled to share it!!!    Nordic Nights sure looks pretty in happy Spring colors!!!!

This pattern is one of my Happy Quilting patterns and I just love making it.  It really is a fun pattern to make and uses my Modified Drunkard Path Templates.  And yes, It is curved piecing, but it truly is not as difficult as we make it out to be in our heads.  I have a step by step tutorial here for using these templates, and it only takes a few blocks practice to really get the hang of it ;)  This is the queen size version, and it finishes at 95" x 95".

These fabrics are Painted Meadow by Robin Pickens for Moda Fabrics.  The line is a few years old, as I was originally making this for a Charity Quilt to auction off at UQSM but then good ol Covid hit, and the retreat got cancelled.  Now that it is all done, I think I will find another Charity event to donate it to.  It's just such a pretty quilt, and I feel like that was it's intended purpose to start, and should be it's finish as well ;)

And even though I quilted it all today, I still wanted to do custom quilting on this!!!  It took a little longer, but was totally worth it.   I used my original Nordic Nights quilting plan as a jumping off point, and then altered it to make it a little faster ;)   Still pretty feathers in the background, but I quilted them all in one direction and then changed the block centers to wavy lines to highlight the star.   Then all over paisleys in the blocks, but I just used a nice pink thread that matched with all the colors ;)  I just love the way it turned out, and still got it done in time for HQM this week!!!  Wouldn't want to miss the deadline with only 1 more to go :)

And truly, I am just thrilled that this quilt is done!!!!  I was saving it towards the end because I really wanted to quilt it up fancy, and I am so glad that even with a time crunch, I still did it up pretty fancy.   I am just so happy to have another version of my Nordic Nights quilt and I excited to find out where it can do some good.

And that is Quilt #25 - Nordic Nights ;)  25 Down and only 1 more quilt to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   Oh my goodness, so, so, so close!!!

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!
