ReplyDeleteI like to take different quilts I've made on trips.
ReplyDeleteDon't have a favorite picnic quilt. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe Charming Circles ruler looks good also wanting to make cathedral windows. 24Tangent@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer quilt is an American flag mini quilt I use for decorating. Thanks so much for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a picnic quilt but I would love to make one with the Moda Black crossweave fabric as the background. I think Fig Tree Quilts has a good pattern for it I would like to use.

ReplyDeleteA Flying Geese quilt that I made one summer while visiting a friend. We set up our machines outside on her sundeck looking out over the vineyards and Okanagan Lake. It is my all time favourite quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of quilts that I alternate on my camper. They're so comfy. Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteI like the Quilter's Cut and Press mats. Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteEven though I'm a quilter the blankets in my car and for outings are inexpensive things I toss in. Too often they get pulled out of the car and I've never seen them again.
ReplyDeleteMy June Tailor cut and press boards are great. I use them all the time.
ReplyDeleteWe have an old blanket in the back of the car that is machine washable!
ReplyDeleteLove their Cushioned Quilter's Square 'n Blocker - 14" x 20" - a really nice large size for blocking!
ReplyDeleteI made an I spy quilt to bring on picnics or to the ball park while dad plays softball.
ReplyDeleteI use some of my older, more worn, quilts on the porch swing.
ReplyDeleteI've never ordered from June Tailor, but I've got my eye on one of her cutting mats!
ReplyDeleteI made a lap size quilt just for riding in our RV because the air conditioning gets too cold :~O

ReplyDeletemsstitcher1214@gmail.com
We keep an OLD wool quilt in car...has been washed probably a thousand times! lol Was given to me years ago..already "weathered & broken in". We have used it inside on beds when winter has been rough too. It is such an Awesome trooper!! Definitely most used, favorite, comfy quilt ever!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for chance to win your Give-a-way too!! :D
I have a "Shape Cut" Ruler.... Was given as a gift few years ago...very cool ruler!! Love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have my dads old wool army blanket that I use in the car for trips!
ReplyDeleteI love different sizes of thread racks!! I like organization!
ReplyDeleteWe use an afghan that I crocheted years ago! I've only been quilting for a little over a year and lap quilts along with quilts for trips are definitely on the to do list! Right now I've been making quilts for my grown kids and grandkids first lol.
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at June Tailor's site, I would love to try the You Hexie Thing, hexagon ruler. I will have to put that on my list! Thank you for introducing me to her website!
ReplyDeleteI have a no pattern log cabin type quilt that I made over 10 years ago with yellow hearths. It goes to our tent on a big raft on the west coast every summer. It is our good luck charmr to successfully catch halibut and salmon.

ReplyDeleteI do not have a favorite summer quilt. Living in the south there are not many summer occasions to need a quilt. I should probably make one for picnics though. Thanks for the opportunty to win the circle ruler.

ReplyDeleteI have a QAYG picnic quilt that is quite heavy, but it is great for picnics!
ReplyDeleteI like the thread storage racks and the non-aerosol spray starch. cotten.gloria@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOne of your QALs from a couple years ago I was planning on using as our picnic quilt, but I have yet to get it quilted us. :(
ReplyDeleteMy Amy Butler charm square quilt is my favorite! I tied it and did some straight line quilting between some of the rows, but not much as I wanted to keep it puffy. I actually slept under it for two weeks with out finishing the binding during a 31 day camping trip.
ReplyDeleteI would love to make a picnic blanket and it's the only reason I opted to take the light colored denim my Mother in Law was cleaning out of her stash (no way was I using it for apparel). It seemed like it would be the perfect backing, but now I think maybe this pattern would be cute with it!
ReplyDeleteI adore hexis so You Hexi Thing immediately caught my eye!
ReplyDeleteI have a favorite summer quilt that we use in the trailer. Just right for on a cool night to snuggle under. The circle ruler looks like fun. thanks for the chance

ReplyDeleteakronne17@gmail.com
I have summer picnic quilt made with denim squares, and I would love to make a cathedral window quilt out of denim too.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first quilts I made was a scrappy log cabin that included double knits, polyester, seersucker, and denim. It has withstood over 20 years of picnics.
ReplyDeletethe one year my son decided to play baseball. It has since spent every winter at his hockey games, goes camping, goes to performances in the park and everywhere else I go. It is time to make a new one - and this ruler would be so much easier than making my own templates like I did when I made that style of denim quilt before.
ReplyDeleteI made a picnic quilt that folds into a shoulder bag, perfect to take along on trips!
ReplyDeleteI would like to try out the Thread Mate
ReplyDeleteSpool and Bobbin Pegs.
Quilter's Cut and Press mats caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteMy Eclipse quilt that I made a couple of years ago is a summer parade favorite. Blocks were won in The Block Lotto. I embroidered the person's first name and where they were from on the ring of the eclipse. Blocks are from all over the world in bright colors in a somewhat modern setting. LOVE it! It is also on my couch all the time, but it's the most used quilt besides our bed quilts.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the mini mat with ruler x
ReplyDeleteIain.ross30 at gmail dot com
I don't have a fabourite summer quilt but I would love to make a vibrant picnic blanket x
ReplyDeleteIain.ross30 at gmail dot com
I do have a fav quilt. I made Bonnie Hunter's "Strip Twist" with swap strips. As I was putting it together I wasn't liking some of "my" extra fabric choices. But when I picked a semi bright blue border and put it on it is now my favorite "go to" quilt! Love it! cakilliany at hotmail . com
ReplyDeleteI have a summer quilt which is basically layer cake squares on point.. I backed it with a flannel sheet and did not use batting - which is why it's a "summer" quilt! I stitched in the ditch to hold the layers together.
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect weight to throw on the ground, bundle up to go somewhere or take a nap under.
My favorite picnic quilt is a quilt I made 25 years ago from bits and pieces. My children were small and I pieced it while watching their soccer/baseball games. It has been patched several times but still brings a smile to everyone.
ReplyDeleteHaven't made a picnic quilt yet - our dirt here is so red it doesn't come out of anything that touches it!
ReplyDeleteI like the cut and press boards
ReplyDeleteMy favorite picnic/outside quilt is one that I made years ago from 30's fabrics. It's soft and worn and the stitching is all wonky as it was one of my first quilts, but I love it!!!
ReplyDelete....and my favorite June Taylor item is their basting spray. I can't live without it. Always keep an extra can on hand, just in case (I hate basting with safety pins!)

ReplyDeleteI have some June Taylor products already - a SHAPE CUT PLUS RULER (very handy for cutting strips for binding) a Quilter's CUT 'N PRESS and recently bought a HALF-SQUARE & QUARTER-SQUARE Triangles Ruler. I saw a tutorial the other day for a quilt, using a Charming Circles Ruler, so that would be my choice. Thanks for the chance to win :)
ReplyDeleteI have a cat quilt - I bought it before I began quilting - love it for picnics
ReplyDeleteAny of the shape cut rulers - been dying to buy one
ReplyDeleteNo favorite quilts of picnic blankets for me, to be honest I wouldn't want all my hard work to be rolled around on in the grass and dirt, and then food on top, I think I would freak!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have their quilter's cut and press, it would be so convenient to have at my dining room table where I sew, I've wanted it for a while, sigh....
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this charming circles ruler!
ReplyDeleteI have been saving old jeans for quite some time now in order to make just this type of quilt for a car or for a picnic. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteNo, I do not have a favorite summertime quilt because I just never considered having one. But what a fabulous idea and solution instead of just using an old blanket. I need to go and find a pattern and make one today!
ReplyDeleteThe June Tailor Shape Plus Cut Ruler is one of my favorite rulers to use for cutting strips of all sizes! It saves so much time and makes the cutting so fast and easy!
ReplyDeleteI don't use a quilt for the beach or picnic. I use an old blanket.
ReplyDeletemy favorite summer quilt is one my grandmother made out of old corduroy! It was heavy, bright and colorful, perfect to use outside. It has seen better days though, this would be a great summer pattern!
ReplyDeleteWe have vintage sheets we take to the beach. Need to make a picnic quilt. grinnie1961 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteAs my maternal grandmother aged, her arthritis was so bad that she could not hand quilt and she thought hand quilting was the way to do it. She still liked to make quilt tops, so she would make strip quilts with flat-felled seams. These tops could be used as bed spreads or throws. I have several of those that I like to use.
ReplyDeleteI have roll-up blankets in pink and blue that I use for picnics and beach time!
ReplyDeleteThe thread storage options would be great. My thread spools are a mess in a drawer. grinnie1961 at g mail dot com
ReplyDeleteI would try the shape cut ruler and for the picnics I use an Old fleece

ReplyDeleteDo Not have this ruler yet. I've got to get busy quilting soon.
ReplyDeleteNeed to make 4 and complete 3 others.
I am a newbie so I don't have any of her rulers. I use a bandanna quilt that I tied for outings.
ReplyDeleteFavorite quilts for picnics are one made of jars of Farmers Market fruits and veggies and another one make of watermelon slices (watermelon like drunkards path curve and rind made of wedges like wedding ring). Favorite quilt to take to quilt camp is a twin-sized quilt made of butterfly fabrics 'Goose on the Pond'. thanks for chance
ReplyDeleteLove the simple Circles ruler (so many sized for perfect circles for those times I can't lay my hands on my circle cutter!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a "summer" quilt. I haven't been quilting long and all I've made have been gifts. I would like to have one though.
ReplyDeleteI would love to play with a ruler like this... Always wanted to!! I do have a quilt that I made that we use for outings... It was one that I made a few oopsies with, so I don't mind putting it on the ground for a picnic, or if it gets soiled from spills of drink or food. Thanks so much!!
ReplyDeleteContinuous Line Quilting Guide - to help me quilt my own quilts!

ReplyDeleteI like the Quilt as You Go Pre-Printed Batting With Fusible Back in the Hopscotch Block Pattern at the June Tailor Store.

ReplyDeleteThat new template looks like it would make my recycling of jeans work easier - thanks. l.

ReplyDeleteNo I do not have one YET, but I have purchased material in the hopes of making a quilt for our little motorhome. Then I will have a favorite.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite June Tailor products are the home decor items. I have made 3 window shades using her system and love the way they coordinate my room.

ReplyDeleteId love to try her iron on embellishments!!
ReplyDeleteBoth my kids have a special picnic quilt!
ReplyDeleteBoth my kids have a special picnic quilt!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite picnic quilt yet, but I have been wanting to make one with scraps and my old jeans. Getting this ruler might just determine the pattern I use!

ReplyDeleteMine is bright yellow, orange and white 9 patch.

ReplyDeletemaureeneh52@hotmail.com
I have the Shape Cut ruler from June Tailor and use it all the time for cutting strips.
ReplyDeletemaureeneh52@hotmail.com
I have four sisters. Back in the '70's we made quilt tops with scraps of double knit that my mom had made us dresses out of. We never got the quilts put together with backing, batting, and binding but since they're double knit they don't fray or come apart. I keep mine in my car. It's been used for picnics, keeping dog hair off sofas, as a tarp, you name it. It hasn't faded and washes up just as easy as you please. It's my first "quilt" and has many memories sewn up into it. If probably cry for days if I ever lost it.
ReplyDeleteThe cut & press mats are wonderful. Great for classes
ReplyDeleteI love the Bobbin Rack.
ReplyDeleteWe use an old picnic rug that used to belong to my grandmother.
ReplyDeleteI don't actually. I made a quilt once with using as a picnic quilt in mind but didn't want to get it dirty!
ReplyDeleteI have a red, white, and blue picnic quilt I made from my stash fabrics and plaid shirts from the thrift store. Love to throw it in the car for a trip to the park.

ReplyDeleteI keep my very first bee quilt that I made in my car for impromptu picnics or soccer games.

ReplyDeleteI don't have a picnic quilt. But I don't do picnics. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try her inkjet transfer products!
ReplyDeleteHi There Melissa,
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask about picnic quilts...I am in the process of making one. as we speak! I am part of a block swap for Canadians on Facebook and my month was March. I designed a large block(18") based on a Courtyard Steps block, but it has a large 9-patch in the center instead of 1 single square. My colours were Aqua & Orange for the logs and solid white & lime green for the center 9-patch. I received 7 blocks and have made 7 more. I'm wanting to have a total of 16 blocks so it will be a nice-sized picnic quilt!
Hope I win the circle ruler as I too have been saving up old jeans for a similar quilt(one of many...LOL).
Quilty Huggs,
Jacqueline
Hi there Melissa,
ReplyDeleteSo, I just popped on over to June Tailor and found an awesome cutting mat: 23" x 23" Grid - Quilting Mate™ with Templates Mat. This would be so perfect for me as I love piecing big blocks!
Thanks!
Quilty Huggs,
Jacqueline
I don't know how I lived without the June Taylor Shape Cut for strips. I use that thing so much when I cut kits, binding, whatever! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very old quilt that my grandmother made from my granddad's old suits, with red twill as the binding and backing. We can sit on that and never feel the bumps on the ground, it's so thick and heavy! It's a crazy quilt pattern embroidered by hand with red thread. It's getting a little shabby but we love it.
ReplyDeleteI am not one for sitting on the ground for a picnic so no quilts for this purpose. Aren't there ants down there on the ground? :) But I will use a bench or bring my camping chair and bug away with me. I do however keep two blankets in my car, one is crocheted and the other is a bright fleece that I made.
ReplyDeletetushay3 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I have the June Tailor mini cut and press mat and a mini cutting mat. I love them both.
ReplyDeletetushay3 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I do have a favorite summer quilt for picnics! It was the first quilt I ever made...about 35 years ago. It's a simple patchwork design using various purple fabrics and yarn-tied. It was on my bed for a few years, then it's gone to the beach, to baseball games, picnics, camping and family trips! It's had quite the list of experiences!
ReplyDeleteI would love a new 23 x35 rotary cutting mat. I made the mistake of using my mat as an ironing board and it has warped. I still use it, but I'd like a new one!
ReplyDeleteI use my jeans quilt, it's perfect just like wearing your favorite pair!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need the mini cutting mat, looks so useful!
ReplyDeleteI have a cute watermelon table runner that I use for summer dinners on the patio!
ReplyDeleteI would like to try fusible batting. I've never used it before and would like to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a special quilt for summer get togethers. Maybe I should make one. chocolatewiskers@aol.com
