A Little Tutorial Help

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness.   Guess what came in the mail the other day . . .   My market badge.  Yippee!!!  I am so excited.  I can't believe Barbara and I will be on a plane in 2 weeks and on our way.  So fun!!!


I have been working on some market projects for wonderful friends and just about have them wrapped up so it is time to turn to a little market project for myself.  Remember how my sweetheart got me a DSLR camera for Christmas??  Well, I think it needs a little strap makeover before I take it to market, cause lets face it, the black one is boring!!  And it scratches my neck as well and that is no good.


So I am wondering . . . Have any of you ever made a strap cover??  Did you maybe use a  tutorial that is super and you might want to share the link, you know save a friend a little surfing time??

    I have used this one. My daughter is a photographer and she likes her camera strap covers. Pocket for lens cap is very handy. www.lbg-studio.com/

    In the current Sew-it Today magazine (June/July?) that is on news stands now, has a camera strap tut. It is made using a tie. Maybe this will help.

    I did. Only thing I would advise is use either more or thicker batting. It helps when you are letting it hang on your neck.

    I know the girl at make it-love it did a camera bag makeover - it's super cute! And there are definitely tutorials out there for the strap. So fun - I hope to see you there! :)

    Rosemary b here:
    I have made a few for other people.
    Basically, make sure the inside fabric that is on your neck is soft, snuggly. not itchy.
    Secondly, make it a color that will not get stains from make up and other "neck debris" haha
    The outside fabric, make it colorful something you look good in. and make a little pocket on the end for whatnots. Just a long tube, but with a bit of something stretchy at each end.
    I made and attached a huge double ruffle on the outside part and it looks girly

    I created a few camera straps and I love the way they came together. They are not covers for an existing strap. You can see one of mine here: http://threadtime.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/what-weekend/
    The basic design was from http://www.ikatbag.com/2009/06/how-to-make-camera-strap.html

    I made the following changes:
    I pieced the 'cover', and sewed to webbing that I picked up at Hancock Fabrics. My daughter and I both have used this strap for more than a year and they have worn very well.
