Happy Birthday to Me :)

Yesterday I turned 33.   It was an absolutely crazy day because it happened to be the first day of school as well.  But, we still managed to squeeze in cake and ice cream about 10 minutes before bed time. (hence the kids all being in their pj's).


I recieved 2 fabulous presents for my birthday. The first is this beautiful sewing machine case.  My new Bernina weighs a ton!!! So this little beauty is going to help me roll from place to place instead of lug :)


And no, my second present was not all the ziploc storage a person could use.  It actually replaced this ziploc storage.  You see, this is what my scraps used to be stored in.


And today I sorted them all into these lovely storage units!!!  I can't tell you how excited I am to have my scraps out of sandwich bags.  They are now neatly sorted, not wrinkled, and so easy to get to and use!!!  They are even on wheels so I can roll them right over to the machine when I am working on a scrap project!!  Yippee Skippee!!!


So ya, I am a pretty lucky girl!!! And now I am off to play with my scraps!!

    Happy Birthday! Isn't it funny what makes us really happy when we are adults and a quilter!! I like that those storage bins roll around very interesting;)

    Happy Birthday Melissa!! Enjoy your new sewing machine case and rolling storage carts! I used to have six of those storage carts for my craft supplies but gave them to my daughter for her bead business. Now that I'm quilting, I wish I had them back for my ever-growing fabric stash..LOL!

    Happy Birthday - oh, I have those rolling carts (various sizes and styles) and love them because you can either take the drawer or roll the whole thing to where you are working. Great gifts.

    It seams to be so easy for our relatives when we, quilters have birthday.

    I have the same case - color and pattern and everything! I love it. Makes traveling soo easy. Also LOVE that scrap storage system. I might have to steal it when I have room (just using a big tub right now).

    Hey, Melissa, I noted on the U-Create review that it was your birthday and headed over here to say I hope it was happy--and I can see that it certainly was! What nice gifts. Doesn't it feel great to get organized? And your fabric looks so pretty through the front of the drawers. I predict even more creativity ahead.

    Happy Happy to you. What great (and thoughtful) gifts. I was recently looking at those drawers and wondering how I could use them--I think you just provided a good answer. My scraps have migrated from zip lock bags to the plastic tubs that contain spinach or lettuce that were stacked on shelves in the closet. Maybe a set of drawers is my next step.

    Happy Birthday! What a great little celebration with the kids; I'm sure they were super duper happy for you and having cake right before bedtime special! :) I love your carts...I really need to do something for my scraps...I don't like the tubs they are in right now...can't get to what I need...it just fluffs and tangles all the more when I dig in there!
