The King Size - Eeek, so exciting!!! And I love me some scrappy binding!!
Hanging from the deck with the sun just peeking over the house.
I quilted varying size swirls all over. They were so much fun, but as it is rather dense it took me 6 hours to quilt. And that was on a rented long arm! I couldn't imagine trying to do this on my home machine.
The Queen Size - Ahh, so pretty!!! I love a crisp white background!!
I quilted this one in an echoed paisley. There is a video tutorial here on this pattern if you are interested :)
Now I am just super excited (and a little nervous) to teach the class!!! I guess I still have a few months to stew over that :)
So, I am curious . . . Do you have a "go to" project that you squeeze in between all of your other projects?? Do you like it or does it stress you out?? I feel like I just figured this out and am really liking it!
my go to project is a scrapy string quilt. I call them 'no mind' sewing as you don't have to think of sizes, or matching colours.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! Pinning it!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is soooo cool. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI just love this design. If only I was nearer to do a class with you.
ReplyDeleteAmazingly wonderful! I love both the quilts. The design is stunning. I am duly impressed. Have fun teaching.
ReplyDeleteEPP is going to be my new Go -- To project ! Its easy, relax and portable. I also Cross-stitch alot...
ReplyDeleteOhthey areso beautiful ! I have to say I am currently struggling a twin through my machine and WOW I wish I could rent time on a long arm!
ReplyDeletethey both look amazing
ReplyDeleteMelissa, they are beautiful! The amount of quilting you get done never ceases to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely- am going to make the Queen size in 2013-
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts Melissa -- I have a couple of "go to" projects -- a wool applique that I can do almost anywhere -- and a VERY LARGE cross stitch sampler by Black Bird Design. They keep me busy when not at my machine.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the tutorial on the paisley -- love it!
I just love both the queen and the king quilts, your creative mojo never ceases to amaze me. You are such an inspiration for me, I have 5 quilt tops to "put together" and I keep procrastinating, I am inspired by you to get them done by Christmas. BTW my go to projects are mug rugs, they are small and cute. God Bless You!
ReplyDeleteIncredible - and May to October sounds like speed quilting to me, lol! I think all my projects are go-tos, I sort of flit from one to the other. My lowest stress one is my scappy block project, where I simply sew whatever scraps I've cut the past few days and then cut them into 5 inch squares. NO idea what they'll end up as, but it's fun to mindlessly sew and cut.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is amazing in both colour ways.
ReplyDeleteThose are beauties!!! Excellent quilting:):):):)
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! they are both wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, just beautiful. And I love the quilting. You should probably mention that you finished these amidst half the family down with stomach flu!
ReplyDeleteWoot! Well done, they look great
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts. And I like the quilting too. I'm afraid I have to confess that I have so many project going on at the same time that you cannot say there is one Ãn between' :) Very nice blog!

Those are beautiful! I don't have any "go to" projects yet. I am fairly new to quilting and am currently a one project at a time quilter. I can see myself getting there, though! :)
