Although I have to admit, I didn't do most of them. See, 3-D sewing sort of scares me something fierce. So over Thanksgiving my mom agreed to help "guide" me through making these dresses. We worked on them for a good portion of a day, and got a decent amount done. My wonderful mother did most of the pinning and matching and lining up, so ya, all I had to do was sew a seam ;)
And then more family showed up and the dresses got set aside,. which totally led to time running out. So rather than sending the dresses back with me to try and finish, my mom offered to finish them for me. And of course, I accepted!!
She worked on and had them finished in no time at all. (Ya, I am pretty sure I was slowing her down :) And my oh my, didn't they just turn out beautiful!! I am so excited that my 3 girls finally had matching dresses for Christmas ;)
And they even got to wear their dresses to see the Nutcracker yesterday. All the girls wanted fancy ballerina hair to go with their fancy dresses. They were spinning and twirling all day. So fun!!!
My Three Little Angels!!!!

ReplyDeleteLovely memories your girls will have of their matching dresses, they are beautiful. I made matching Christmas skirts for my 2 granddaughters (different families), they wore them to lots of parties leading up to Christmas by having different tops. Happy New Year to you and your family. Annette....Melbourne, Australia
ReplyDeleteThe dresses are nearly as beautiful as your darling girls... Aren't Mums great.....
ReplyDeleteThe dresses are simply gorgeous and your daughters are just precious young ladies!
ReplyDeleteLovely dresses! I can't even tell you how hard that would have been for me, to make three dresses at once! What a wonderful Mom you have. Looking forward to seeing a "picture" of your present.

ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful dresses and it looks like the girls just love them! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteMelissa...You post warmed my heart and put a big smile on my face. I dressed my 50 year old daughter and 48 year old son alike in little British styled outfits for years. They were sososo cute. Your mom was a dear to finish them up for you. That was quite the undertaking, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that the new year is filled with lots of loving family time and you create some more beautiful quilts. genie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dresses and girls!! And your present works really well! :-) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful little girls you have ~ the dresses turned out so lovely! Nice to have a Mom who is helpful and doesn't mind helping out!
ReplyDeleteOh my those are the cutest little daughters, wow and what a dress for three Mama did make! Well done!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so beautiful! And the dresses are lovely too. I'm guessing that the confidence and desire to be the centre of attention increases the further down the line of girls you go in your family? Look at little Jocelyn! She was just born when I started reading your blog. Now she's a little girl, with grown up hair and clothes, and attitude maybe? not a baby anymore!
