ReplyDeleteWork April Fool's: we had a sign in/out board and everyone in our lab signed out when we got to work. Then we hid in the back conference room. The boss always got to work last so when he saw the bird, he wandered among the empty hallways, labs and offices wondering where everyone was. We all had a good laught, especially him, when he found us.

ReplyDeleteSalt in the sugar bowl. My dad made THREE cups of coffee (and threw all away) before figuring out it was the "sugar."
ReplyDeleteI'm not clever enough to come up with an April Fools joke, but my husband is. April Fool's Day is the only day he acts normal because he says people expect you to play jokes on that day!

ReplyDeleteThe best April Fools joke was 38 years ago when my dad to us and everyone else that's my mom had my little brother. She had ran an errand and when I came home from school he was telling someone on the phone. I was so excited (I was a teenager) until my mom came home abbot later 😂 My brother was born 3 days later. 😁
ReplyDeleteWe superglued a quarter to the floor and then watched a man try to get it off the floor for about 30 minutes!
ReplyDeleteI follow LouLou on IG - and I LOVE the bundle this week!
ReplyDeleteOur family celebrates April Fools with food pranks. The kids really enjoyed their morning cup of juice that was really jello. We also like to eat dessert first on that day - a pineapple upside down cake.
ReplyDeleteI get Lou Lou's blog!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't played a April fools joke in a long time but When I was a kid I use to scare my Mom by telling her I saw a mouse, worked every time 😊. I miss my Mom, she has been gone for 43 years. Thanks for bringing back the memories ❤

ReplyDeleteI had my daughter convinced that I thought blue M&Ms tasted different from the other colors.
ReplyDeleteI teach 2nd grade and part of our curriculum is plant life cycles. I like to bring in some Cheerios and tell the kiddos we are going to plant donut bushes. There are always a couple of kids that tell the class they have done that at home before. We plant the cheerios (seeds) and water them carefully. During lunch I put donuts on their desks. They are happy about this April Fools joke.
ReplyDeleteThe best worst April fools joke was done to me by my Dad. He put salt in the sugar bowl so I got up made my Cera and took that first mouthful..... ewwww! Not very sweet tasting😣 funny thing was he did the same thing every year and always managed to get one of us 5 siblings.

My mom would always double-knot my shoes on April Fool's Day so the kids at school wouldn't get me with the old, "Your shoe's untied!" My friend tried to warn me that my shoe was in fact untied, but I was so adamant about not getting tricked that I wouldn't look and fell in front of everyone in the cafeteria! :)

Awesome! My favorite April Fool's joke was when me and my friends meticulously went through my college friend's dorm room and put everything upside down and backwards- pictures in frames, things on the wall, books on the shelf. etc. It wasn't noticeable at first! So funny :)
ReplyDeleteAfter inventoring my stash colors. I see I've got little blue so this weeks FQ bundle at Lou Lou's is my favorite shop item. thank you.

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't April Fools but while working summer camp, my friend and I were on our way to toilet paper a fellow staff cabin when we stopped by our mothers' cabin for additional supplies. The problem was we left our sunblock at the moms' cabin. They set us up by giving it to our victim. We had to sing in front of the whole camp to get it back and by doing so, confess our "crime".

ReplyDeleteThe best April fools joke was the one my son pulled on his co-workers. He is a computer programmer so he programmed the photocopier to display "Low Coolant" everyone called him to asked where the coolant was kept, lol
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway today. I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the best prank but, we had a group of mom's that lunched the first of the month at local coffee shops and we would visit, complain, gossip and share girl talk. Being the last to arrive that April Fools day, they told me one of the girls was getting a divorce...they had a whole story concocted. Well, I shared what I did when I thought my hubby was leaving me (it never did happen, but we were close to splitting up and I had never told anyone about it) So I told her how I took all the money out of all the bank accounts, cancelled his credit cards etc and just bared my soul...and then everyone felt horrible after hearing my confessions...and told me it was an April Fools joke....
ReplyDeleteOnce we changed out all the photos in a co-workers office picture frames with pictures of our boss. It was hilarious to see him notice it during a meeting!

ReplyDeleteA few years ago, my son, fresh out of the army, contacted me that he was on the way to DFW airport to pick up his Russian mail bride. He had his sister and brother in on it too! He even took off work!! Had a picture and everything of this girl!!! Published all of this on Facebook! He didn't let me off the hook for the whole day. He had the wedding planned and everything. Scared me to death!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never been pranked since it's not something we ever picked up growing up. My brother in law has a birthday on april 1st and he's had pranks played on him.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was expecting my FOURTH child, the April Fool's joke I pulled on my husband was to tell him that I was expecting triplets!

ReplyDeleteWhen my husband was in collage, he had a friend who had passed out from too much to drink. He and a few friends picked up this fellow's bed and put it in the service elevator and took the bed outside and left it under a tree. You can imagine the surprise/confusion on this guys face when he woke up the next morning. Everyone had a good laugh.

ReplyDeleteI have never been April fooled :( and I'm not great at pranks, so I've never really April fooled anyone. The best I can say is that Google always gets me with their April Fools Day pranks, especially when they announced YouTube was shutting down in 2013.

ReplyDeleteBest April Fools joke played on me: I was teaching 7/8 grade and in our small school we always ate lunch in our room. Cammie, one of my favorite students yelped and then came across the room to show me her bloody finger. She said she'd been fooling around with the pencil sharpener and stuck her finger in it. I was horrified and then entire class burst into "April Fool!"
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed French fries and ketchup were on the menu! Now Cammie is a mom of 2 great boys and has just been hired as a principal--and still has a wonderful sense of humor :) And we still have a good laugh over her finger!
I can't think of anything in particular.

ReplyDeleteoh my I have not really pulled to many April fools jokes or had too many pulled on me, except when the kids where younger. They always had something up their sleeves. LOL. I did make scrambled eggs in different colors and then mixed the colors so it looked like rainbow colored eggs. LOL It was fun to do and cute. But the kids wouldn't eat them.
ReplyDeleteOne year I made my kids 'fish sticks' that were really wafer cookies coated with peanut butter and rolled in cracker crumbs. Every year they can't wait to see what's for 'dinner' on April 1.

ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were younger, I loved to prank them nicely... once I put Saran Wrap on the utensils, another time I ran around the house telling everyone that we had slept in and we were really late for school, the best one was putting a huge plastic spider on my daughter's pillow and waking her up... she jumped off the bed in a single move!!! Lol

hi melissa...i bought one of those fake lottery tickets and gave it to a friend. when they scratched it off they thought they had won 10,000.00 it was a pretty good gag but i was glad i was not on the receiving end of that one..... a total disappointment.

ReplyDeleteI did a dumb thing on April 1 when I was a kid. I helped my friend bring a dead skunk to school on the bus. I don't remember why, can't imagine why we would do such a thing. My most memorable April Fool memory.
ReplyDeleteMy sister called me on April 1 to tell me that she had won over a million dollars in the lottery. She made it sound so true .. I cried and yelled and screamed ... I was sooo happy for her!!! It was a long phone call until she finally told me "April's Fool"! It took me a minute to realize it was not true! I didn't even realize it was April Fool's Day when she called.
ReplyDeleteI have never been much of an April fooler. I always fall for "your shoe is untied" even when I am wearing shoes without ties!
ReplyDeleteThe best one I pulled was taking Styrofoam and cut it to resemble a layer cake, frosted it with chocolate frosting and left it in the break room at work. Many people put the knife into the same slot trying to cut it. One asked if she could take it home - of course I let her.
ReplyDeleteMy boss was the victim of an office prank. We made him think our system had crashed and our IT support was in on it. After 15 minutes we came clean and he laughed so hard he cried. He said he was happy that we showed "team work".
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of Lou Lou's Fabric Shop but I just signed up to their newsletter/blog.

ReplyDeleteWhen we were younger my dad convinced all us kids and even my mom that we had to lean forward to get the car to go forward. I don't remember the details of what he told us, but whatever it was, it worked. Also, not April Fools, but we had recently moved to California and experienced our first earthquake. We lived in a trailer home, and we were all convinced that it was our dad outside shaking the house! :)

ReplyDeleteLoving the "Sweet" Orchard bundle at LouLou's Fabric.
ReplyDeleteFavorite April Fool's joke? Oh boy, as a former teacher there were plenty but the all time classic one is the tack on the teacher's chair. Thank goodness for push pins nowadays!

ReplyDeleteThe best April Fool's Day joke was playing NO joke on our favorite math teacher, who always expected a major joke!

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't really a prank, but my best April Fool's memory is the year my mom had a sandwich for every meal...sandwich for lunch, burger for dinner, ice cream sandwiches for dessert. As a kid, it was quite amusing! Another year we ate ice cream "for dinner" and then my parents sent my sister and I to bed, A little bit later they called us down for breakfast...my dad had made breakfast for dinner!
ReplyDeleteI follow LouLou's Fabric Shop on IG and have ordered from the shop!
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago when I was teaching 4th grade, I had an especially spunky, laugh-loving group of students. I went in an hour early to school on April 1st and, using duct tape, I taped one leg of each chair to the matching desk leg. As I welcomed each into the class at the beginning of the day, I so enjoyed watching them try to pull out their chair to sit down! They howled and so did I!

ReplyDeleteBest AFD joke I ever pulled off was asking my soon-to-be husband who had hit his truck. Had him going until I felt sorry for him and let him in on the joke.
ReplyDeleteWe've been married for nearly 27 years now, so I guess he didn't mind me pulling a terrible joke on him!

ReplyDeleteI know when I was a kid my dad would do April Fool's jokes, but I can't even remember what they were. My husband is not a big April Fool's joker so I really don't have one to tell, but I'd still love to win the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI haven't pulled any April fools jokes but my daughter did but sugar in my spaghetti sauce once. I thought I had made the worse spaghetti ever till she owned up.
ReplyDeletea "fake" traffic ticket arrived in the mail for me....but it looked SO REAL. I was being fined and a late charge had been added for a total of $400+ dollars. I panicked! But my April fool loving daughter had sent it in the mail to me....it was the best (and worst!) joke she ever pulled on me!
ReplyDeleteI don't do many April Fool's jokes, but a couple years ago, I printed out a couple mazes for my two oldest children that had no solution. They spent a LONG time on it before my oldest figured it out. I can probably pull it on my youngest two next year. :-)
ReplyDeleteone time some of my employees called in sick. After a few minutes of trying to figure out how we were going to cover their areas they walked in the door. Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI am so not a fan of April Fool's Day, but sometimes I try to do something fun for the kids. One year we made meatloaf in a cupcake/muffin tin and added mashed potatoes on top for the "cupcake frosting." It really didn't trick anyone, but was a fun way to eat dinner! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that LouLou's offers a weekly bundle. Such a fun way to get a special bundle of coordinating fabrics. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you think about it, it's really unusual that such a concept lead to a "holiday." No fooling, would love to win.

ReplyDeleteThe best April fools joke played on me was when I was a teenager - after a basket ball game - I arrived late for the team dinner at a restaurant - when I walked in - Happy Birthday was being sung - to me! But it wasn't my birthday - they all just wanted some free cake --- probably the only time I have been "surprised" on my not birthday
ReplyDeleteThe best April fools joke played on me was from a friend I have never met who I play online with words for friends scrabble type game. We have been playing for number of years, and I had recently injured myself at work with a concussion so my thinking was kind of off. She messaged me and said she was giving up words with friends and would no longer be playing due to it being too time-consuming for Her. I totally fell for it!
ReplyDeleteWhen my children were young, we made April Fools Day props -- tipped-over cups with fake cocoa spilling out, and a "melting" icecream cone. Fun!
ReplyDeleteMy son would move our car in a parking lot after he learned to drive. When we came out NO CAR. Also he turned the radio volume up to full. When the car started we were blown out the doors.
ReplyDeleteMany of the fat quarter bundles at Lou Lou's shop look so nice. I especially like the Sweet Prairie collection.
ReplyDeleteI am not very good a pulling jokes on people. I think they are funny, and in reality, they aren't!! I did tell my brother that all of the apple pie was gone, and though he was disappointed, he ate a different type, only to find out that I was pulling one on him.

ReplyDeleteBest April Fool's joke I have seen was done by our local newspaper when I was a girl. My grandpa was up in arms about it and already making phone calls of protest when we realized the author was "Sloof Lirpa".

ReplyDeleteWell, it wasn't on me personally, but once NPR ran a "fake" April Fool's Day story about the push to offer nationwide, government-sponsored health insurance for PETS. ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Jr. High my family was finally going to get to take a vacation during our spring break from school. We were planning on leaving Apr 1. We got the car all packed. ReplyDeleteWell, this is not very nice, but my kids and I changed the direction of the spray on the kitchen sink faucet. So when my husband used it, it sprayed in his face. He was mad! Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net

ReplyDeleteWhen our sons were small, we stuffed newspaper in the toe of my husband's shoes so they "wouldn't fit" on April Fool's Day.

ReplyDeleteMy husband went fishing, brought back carp, filled the bath tub and put the dead fish in...hmmm creepy and startling. Also--my son always wound a rubber band on the handle/sprayer at the kitchen sick, so when the water is turned on I got sprayed! Also, college roommate prank: unscrew the shower head, sprinkle dried jello in there, reattach and then don't be the next one to take a shower, but be sure to be there to witness the surprise and fun! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy roommate years ago had an English boyfriend visiting the US at Easter time. She got our other roommate's mom, a minister, to pretend to conduct a whole Easter ritual where we all ceremoniously took a bite of a dish full of dirt. The boyfriend was scared to death that he would have to do this when the dish reached him, until somebody started laughing and gave it away. The "dirt" was actually Oreo crumbs on top of a chocolate dessert. ;)

ReplyDeleteI once told an employee he was going to be fired by our manager. He had insulted a friend of his, so she and his best friend asked me to "fire" him while they hid.
