ReplyDeleteI started one, but didn't finish. I got distracted by other projects that needed to be finished. I might try again in the future.
ReplyDeleteI love following your IG. =)
ReplyDeleteI follow you on RSS and FB. I'm doing two quiltalongs at the moment - the Happy Go Lucky sewalong, and the Splendid Sampler 2. My two favourite things about them are having a quilt broken down into weekly tasks so it doesn't become overwhelming, and also seeing everyone else's different choices and fabrics as they sew their own blocks. I wish I could join the Seeing Stars quilt along too, but two is about all I can handle! I'll cheer from the sidelines though. :)
ReplyDeleteI have done several and loved it - to me they provide inspiration to keep on schedule. I did a postage stamp and a trip around the world quilt along - loved them both.

ReplyDeleteI love the comradeship, ideas and helpful tips of a quilt along!

ReplyDeleteI have done a few of your QALs... back before I returned to working full time as a teacher. I liked the imbedded deadlines as I had an incentive to finish each assignment, which led to a completed project faster than I would have on my own. I also like to see the variety of finished projects.
ReplyDeleteYes, Quilt a longs are fun! I really enjoy seeing what other people are doing - they are always so creative!
ReplyDeleteI have joined quilt-alongs, but I'm always behind. I was able to keep up with one when I was off work for a few months ... but I do love the inspiration of seeing what others are doing! Thank you for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI’m in the middle of two quilt alongs right now, and about to add a 3rd with autumn love. I like the added motivation to keep up, love to see others quilts as we all progress, and I don’t usually feel too stressed out (at least with one block a month - we will see how I do with one a week and autumn love).
ReplyDeleteI follow by email, and it’s fun

True confession - I often don't participate in quilt-alongs because I can't let go of my control issues and want to see the finished quilt before I commit. Want to make sure I like it, and perhaps change colours, etc.

I've never done one but they always look fun
ReplyDeleteYes, I have done several quilt-alongs and what I like best about them is that they keep on track for getting a quilt finished. I don't always get them done on time but I do eventually finish them.
ReplyDeleteI have participated in Fort Worth Fabric Studio's Christmas Mystery QAL and the Star Spangled Mystery QAL. Have I finished either quilt? No, but I am close! They are fun to follow and it's fun to see everyone's fabric choices! I am now participating in the Save the Bee QAL (Jacquelynn Steves). I will be making a slightly smaller version of her quilt.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely make a few blocks from your Seeing Stars quilt but I know myself and I would never finish that entire beautiful (large) quilt. I am planning on making a throw size quilt out of some of the blocks (maybe for XMAS?). I love stars!
There are too many QAL's that I would love to do!

ReplyDeleteI have done and will do more QAL's. I am notorious for having 8-10 quilts on the go at all times. That's why I love QAL's. You start and work with a community to finish at more or less the same time! Structured, organised sewing!
ReplyDeleteYes I enjoy quilt a longs! They are fun!
ReplyDeleteI've never done an online quilt along before. It should be fun. I decided to do a patriotic quilt which should look great with the stars. I purchased my background fabric this morning and already have some patriotic fat quarters so am ready to begin.
ReplyDeleteI love quilt alongs because it keeps me motivated to get it done! My second reason is because I love to see what everyone else is using for fabric and colors!
