ReplyDeleteThis is our first spring in a 'new' home, and the previous owner removed ALL of the trees! I was horrified. After we got the backyard re-graded (so it slopes AWAY from the house), we now have a 2 tier yard, and our next project will be putting in the retaining wall & a french drain. However, we've already planted 2 trees with plans to plant 3 more (plus 2 more to go into the front yard). Honestly, who cuts down ALL their trees? That's just plain nuts to me....especially in the HOT summers of Northern California...
ReplyDeleteI've followed FQS on Pinterest for ages -- wonderful! Thanks for the giveaway!!

I like to fill my hanging pots with brightly colored petunias. They prove to be tough for our farm conditions and they add beauty to my yard.
ReplyDeleteI love to tend my yard but mostly flowers and trees, no pesticides for me. My yard is a haven for birds, butterflys, insects and happy dogs. Living in the Bay Area of California we deal with drought so most things survive on minimal water and heat, lots of Mediterranean plantings. I discovered the Fat Quarter shop in the early lockdown days of the pandemic.
