Jolly Tree Farm Mystery QAL - Week 1

It's Week 1 of the Jolly Tree Farm Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop.  All the details for this super fun mystery QAL can be found right here ;)    And here is Week 1 Release - Spruced Up and you can find the free pattern here.   Isn't it jus so cute!!

This Mystery Quilt features Sherri and Chelsi's new Christmas line Pontsettia and Pear and there are kits available here but I am using a Cozy Wonderland layer cake by Fancy That Design House. And this weeks trees were just so fun to make.  And don't they just look so happy all in a row :)   And Kimberly even made a fantastic You Tube turorial walking you through each step of making this block.

And I figured, since the pattern had a lot of stitch and flip, why not make some bonus HST along the way.   And yup, all of these are from this one block!!   I don't know what I plan to do with these, but I think they will just make the cutest little matching project to go with this mystery quilt.

So are you going to do some Christmas Sewing in July along with me!! Come join in, it is going to be oh so much fun!!   Can't wait to see what tree's we get next week :)

Orchard House Quilt!!

Today I am so excited to share a new finished quilt with you all, especially for all of my quilting friends that are also avid book readers!!  I just love that these beautiful Orchard House Fabrics by Heather Peterson are all about Lousia May Alcott's timeless classic, Little Women.  This quilt is called Orchard House and I just think it is oh so beautiful!!  The Pattern is by Anka's Treasures and it just such a fabulous pattern!!!  It was so easy to follow and so detailed, just fantastic ;)

The Orchard House quilt uses yardage from the Orchard House Fabrics  Collection.   I just love how everything borders the March's Family home in beauitful stars!!  And the way the border seamlessly ties into the star, just brillian!  The quilt finishes at 77" x 77" so it is a great size to curl up with!

This Orchard House quilt is made with basic piecing.   And yes, there are som tiny squares and specifice placement, but again, the pattern is extremly detailed, so it makes all the piecing super easy to follow!! It is great for experienced beginners and experts alike!! And once those little flowers (which are absolutly goregous!!) in the center are pieced, the rest comes together super quick as it is all rather large piecing!!

I decided I wanted to do an all over Loose Feather quilt design on this.  I think it gives the feel of ivy growing up the outside of an English Manor ;)   And I actually quilted this one up at the cabin, so it was on the ol Avante that is run off the grid on Solar Power, so fun!!  And yippee for yummy texture!!

And if you love this quilt as much as I do . . . you can make your own!!  There is an Orchard House Quilt Kit available now and it even comes in a cute keepsake box!!  This really is a fantastic kit as then you don't have to worry about gathering all of the different size yardage pieces.   And trust me, you are just going to love making this quilt!!!

And that is my Orchard House quilt!  This is going to be a treasured quilt for sure!!  I can't wait to snuggle up with a good book in front of the fire place ;)

Thanks for joining me today and sharing in this new finish with me.

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!

Liberty Box 2026!!

It's one of those super fun days!!!  Today I am opening my 2026 Liberty Box  from Fat Quarter Shop !! You all know that I just love these Limited Edition holiday boxes!!  And I was so very excited to open this  Liberty Box  .  (which is sold out, but you can be notified if any extra's show up)   *** Warning, spoilers to follow . . . If you want to see what's inside, keep reading, if not, stop here.

What an incredible Box of All American Quilting Goodness!!  Doesn't all of that red, white, and blue just make you want to cjeer!!!  This  Liberty Box   has me so excited to sit and sew :)     And since our local quilt guild has volunteered to make "Americana" quilts for each baby born in Cedar City in 2026 to Celebrate America 250, this box of goodness could not be better for whipping up a whole lot of baby quilts!!

I was so excited to find a Bundle of Firewok Fields by Gracey Larson.  And the Star Salute quilt pattern is just so great.  I think I am going to make it, but break into four baby quilts.  I would just need a few extra blocks and that is totally doable.   So fun!!

And the notions in this  Liberty Box   are just so handy and of course, in Blue and White!!    How great is this True Blue Wooden Ruler Rack!!!  These are always so handy for storing rulers, and I espcieally love to keep my Alphabitties oraginzed in them ;)    And the Half Square Triangle Helper is going straight in my teaching bag, as they always come in handy in class.   And finally, I just love the Star Salute Bookends.   They are perfect for keeping my piles of jean squares nice and straight so that some day, I can make a denim quilt ;)

And that us my  Liberty Box   and it is certainly worth celebrating ;)  The Spooky Box will be next so watch for it to show up, they always go quick ;)

Thanks for popping in and Happy Quilting!!

Two Summer Quilt Alongs!!

I am getting ready for two super fun summer quilt alongs!!  The first is the Haven Charity Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop.   This is the  13th annual Charity Quilt Along benefitting Make a Wish.   We will be making this beauitful Haven Quilt starting July 3rd with details here.  The Haven Quilt featuires Lella Botique's new True Love fabric line and there are kits available here.

I was so inspired by the colors, but wanted to make a more gender neutral version, so I decided to make mine in the same colors of Grunge Basics!!   I am so excited.  I just love grunge and think this will make such a pretty picnic blanket when it is all done ;)

Next up is the Jolly Tree Farm Mystery Quilt Along.   It is always fun to participate in these Mystery Quilt Alongs.  I just like seeing what comes out each week!!  This QAL starts Monday June 29th with the first pattern release and then follow each Monday for four weeks.  You can find all the details here.   This Mystery Quilt features Sherri and Chelsi's new Christmas line Pontsettia and Pear and there are kits available here.

The kit features a Layer Cake, so I went to my Christmas Cupboard (yes, I have one of those in my new sewing room ;)  and found my cherished Cozy Wonderland layer cake.  This is by Fancy That Design House and I just love all of her beauitful Christmas Lines.  it is harder to find Cozy Wonderland now, but Old World Yultide and either would be just goregous!!   I can't wait to see how it plays in this Mystery Quilt along!!

So now I have my fabrics pulled and am ready for Charity and Christmas Sewing in July!!   Will you Quilt along with us??  There is lots of time to get ready and both are going to be oh so much fun!!

Safari on the Savannah!

Today I am so excited to share a new finish with you featuring Leo and Savannah fabrics that I was able to make for my wonderful friends at  Riley Blake Designs!!  This quilt is called Safari on the Savannah  and isn't it just the cutest!!  The Pattern is by Coach House Designs and it is an absolutely fantastic pattern that breaks each block down step by step and makes this quilt very easy to make.

The  Safari on the Savannah quilt uses yardage from the Leo and Savannah fabric.  I love how each block uses a different color basic from the line to really make the animals pop!     And the top and bottom border is the cutest little safari print!  The quilt finishes at 54" x 68" so it is a great size to hang above the crib, and then grow into a big boy bed.

This Safari on the Savannah quilt is made with basic piecing.  Watching the placement is key but again, the pattern is really easy to follow.   And yes, there is a little bit of applique at the end of each block to add the faces on the animal.  It's super easy and adds so much character, totally worth the time.   It is truly a great pattern for experienced beginners and experts alike!!

And I wanted to add lots and lots of yummy texture to the quilt, so I opted for my all over swirl.   I just love this design, and I can do it rather fast, which was important as this was a gift for a special little boy turning 4 on Monday.   He just loved it, and it is on his big boy bed already ;)

And that is my Safari on the Savannah quilt!  I am so glad I got to test this pattern for Riley Blake Designs and had this adorable quilt top when I was done.  I absolutely loved piecing each of the blocks, and the finish is just so cute!!

Thanks for joining me today and sharing in this new finish with me.

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!
