She was found way down the beach looking for us by the San Diego Life Guards. I can not begin to express my thanks that she was returned to us with no harm. I am so grateful to the San Diego Police Department and Life Guards for their diligent efforts to find her. I was so incredibly touched by how many wonderful people saw our distress and stopped their vacation and began scouring the beach with us. There are still so many wonderful people in this world. I thank each and every one of them!!
Last night, when Kami said her prayers she thanked Jesus for helping her find her family. I know that He was with her while she was lost and that he was watching over her and keeping her safe. I am eternally grateful for that. I know that His love was with us while we searched for her, keeping us calm and giving us hope. He is Hope!! Whatever your Religion or Belief, I hope that you have a Wonderful Easter Day spent with those you Love and that it will be filled with the Hope and Peace of Jesus.
Easter blessings to you and your family as well. He is risen, indeed!!

ReplyDeleteThank the Lord! I can only imagine how terrified you were, and how sweet that reunion was. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine what you went through. I lost the kids for a minute or so in the store and was frantic. I don't think I could have handled 30 minutes. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing you back together! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I'm so happy that she was found safe! I'm sure that was a very long 30 minutes. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful ending to a scary situation. Praise the Lord.
ReplyDeleteI am glad your story had a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely scary. Now that I am watching my grandson, I worry about every little thing, I think I am more of a worrier than I was with my kids, lol. Glad she was safe and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.

ReplyDeletePTL!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you felt. The same thing happened to us when my now grown son of 22 was lost on the beach when he was three. Eventually after nearly loosing my mind he was found making sandcastles with some other kids. So glad your daughter was found safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteEvery parent and grandparents could imagine those 30 minutes when reading this post. It is wonderful that on this special weekend there was such a happy ending to the story.
ReplyDeleteHow scared you must have felt and what relief in finding her ~ so glad that she was found so quickly. It's so wonderful the kindness of strangers to help you!
ReplyDeleteI got chills reading this, what a horrific 30 minutes! Thank GOD everyone is fine--faith and hope, it carries the world. Have a lovely Easter.
ReplyDeleteWe lost my 4-year-old daughter on the beach 32 years ago, and I can still feel the panic and terror that exploded in me when I realized she was gone! I remember walking up and down the beach crying and pulling at my hair like a madwoman. My mom found her - like your daughter, amazingly far down the beach, so far actually that Mom had actually turned around thinking she couldn't have gotten that far. Christy saw her hat and ran after her calling out "Maw Maw!!!" Here I am crying just telling the story - all this time later. I am happy for you that your story turned out as happy as ours did. Hallelujah!!! It will be an Easter you will never forget!
ReplyDeleteWhew! So relieved for a happy ending! This is one beautiful photograph of your daughter... Perfect for framing!!
ReplyDeleteOhMy tearing up, I one time lost my 4 yr. old son in a busy department store at the mall, he was only missing for about 5-10 minutes he had wanted to ride the escalator down again and the police officer at the bottom stopped him, that was the most stressful time in my life and it was very short, I couldn't imagine 30 minutes, I even walked out of the department store with my hands full of unpaid merchandise in my unsettled mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful you found her and everything turned out well. She is a cutie and Precious to all. You were watched over by angels -for sure!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't even imagine how long those 30 minutes felt. Glad all is well! Being a mom has it's moments!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing story! I am so glad she was found and you were right, he was with you the whole time. He definitely works in very mysterious ways sometimes. I hope you ended up having a very special Easter!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad that your little one was safe! I know exactly how you felt, my little one was missing for just a few minutes last spring and they were the longest of my entire life! We were both crying and both of us kept saying "I am sorry." Thank the Lord everything work out, we are so blessed!

How moving - I'm so glad you shared this. It is a terrifying thing to experience - yet such a great opportunity to reinforce God's love and protection over them. SO glad she was found, safe and sound. Praise God!
ReplyDeleteHer gratitude and yours is the ending most appreciated. I have had numerous experiences where I came to KNOW that Jesus Christ knows my children's names. Sweet is the peace the Gospel brings. Joyous Easter wishes.
ReplyDeleteThank you God for your grace. We lost our 3 year old once in a crowd. It is the worst feeling. Happy she is safe in her family today :) She is precious. Janita
ReplyDeleteI'm praising God with you that your sweetie was found, unharmed. Parenting is such a HUGE responsibility and it can seem so overwhelming when we think of all the things that can go wrong... It's good to know that God sits on his throne of grace and mercy each and every moment of each and every day. God bless you all and Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI live right here in San Diego county and am so happy to hear that the people here stepped up. I have found that people are helpful everywhere when there is a need. Why do we has trouble getting along as countries? People for the most part are wonderful and will help. Bless your baby.
ReplyDeleteHave been in that situation quite a few times, with youngest in particular so I know exactly how you feel. Very glad she was found and was safe, I hope it's the last time you have to experience that.

ReplyDeleteSo happy your story had a happy ending... the panic you must have felt is in the pit of my stomach as I read your story. My the hand of the Lord stay on the childs shoulder to help keep her safe.
ReplyDeleteWe have had that happen with our 4 year old on a beach here and it was terrifying. So glad that all ended well! And I hope your stay here in SoCal was/is wonderful aside from that! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful that you found Kami safe and unharmed! That is the worst part of being a parent - the heartwrenching that comes with the job... but I wouldn't trade it in for anything. I myself have 3 beautiful daughters, and a grand daughter who I adore. I don't see them nearly often enough, but they are the best things that ever happened to me. Happy Easter to you and your family Melissa!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful you found her. I lost my daughter in a mall when she was 2 yrs. old. We were at a craft sale - back when those were so big. Hundreds of women, etc. She was found and returned to me. There is no fear like it. Blessed Easter to you - rejoice in the Lord always!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your story had a happy ending! That is definitely the worst part of parenting. Thank God for the "village" to raise a child and help in times like that! Wishing y'all a very peaceful Easter!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for your wonderful message - I'm tearing up as I read it! So glad for you all that she is safe. Happy Easter to you all too! Our Easter was spent with a very upset almost-two-year-old grandson - he is not liking his new baby brother very much! Lots of prayers at our end. Our thanks have been sent because his mother (our daughter in law) has been saved from her pulmonary embolism too! I'll guess we'll all settle down eventually ;-P

ReplyDeleteOh wow. So SO sorry. And so glad (obviously) that she was found and totally safe. It sounds like now she and Uncle Mark will have something to talk about, huh? What is it about second-to-youngest children that they get lost/separated from their families anyway?
ReplyDeleteGlad this had a happy ending and she was found safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this precious story!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how terrifying! So, so glad that it worked out so well. And thank you for sharing.
