Sidewalks. I know they're not too modern but this is the first house I've lived in that has side walks. I love to walk, so now I don't have to get out of the way for oncoming traffic. It also means anything I can drag to the sidewalk, the city takes it away! To me, that is an awesome convenience!
ReplyDeleteI could not manage without electricity!!!
ReplyDeleteI get their newsletter, follow them via FB too!!! Thanks for the chance!!
ReplyDeleteAir conditioning.

ReplyDeleteHot water. We lived in China during the school year 2012-13 while we taught English to graduate students through the BYU China Teachers program. We lived in an apartment provided for us that would be best described as low class housing in the US. We had no hot water in the kitchen. In the bathroom, hot water was provided two hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. So, no sleeping in on Saturday and no staying up late and getting a hot/warm shower. Boiling water to wash dishes was cumbersome, to say the least. I still remember to thank Heavenly Father for hot water!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely electricity I need power for my sewing machine unless someone would give me a trundle one those are just as efficient
ReplyDeleteElectricity. I wouldn't be able to use my sewing machine!

ReplyDeleteI would find it hard to live without airconditioning, at least where live now. After suffering a brain injury 22 years ago, I have severe heat intolerance and get migraine headaches if I get very hot. Here in the hot and humid south, it's very hard to make it in the summer for me, even with a/c.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live without a car... sure changed the way we commute.
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet baby flannel fat quarter bundles in their shop! The green one is cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh, we were just talking about this today at work! How timely! I think I could not live without the microwave. One of my co-workers said indoor plumbing and air conditioning. Those are biggies, too! :)

ReplyDeleteLove that bundle! As for modern convenience, so many to choose from but I'm going to have to say washing machine. As it is, I feel like I do 7,000 loads a week. I don't want to think about how I would clean clothes or the time it would take without my Maytag.

ReplyDeleteThe second modern convenience that I could not live without would be the cooking range I am not very excited about fire baking....LOL
ReplyDeleteEvery winter, when we have power outages, I am reminded that I l-o-v-e electricity. I would have a very hard time living without that. Being able to turn on lights is so comforting, to begin with.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot to love at Fabric Please! I've got my eye on "Sparkle" by Natalie Barnes in black and white.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live now, definitely could not live without air conditioning! In Houston, it gets so freaking hot.
ReplyDeleteNo question electricity. Ours was out for 2 weeks after an ice storm. Life was miserable.
ReplyDeleteI follow Fabric Please on FB.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Modernist fabric that is being given away. The colors are great. Checking out the Fabric Please site, it is nice that they have home decor fabric as well since patterns for some bags call for home decor or duck. Nice to be able to coordinate right there on one site.
ReplyDeleteI would be able to but wouldn't want to live without my cellphone.

ReplyDeleteAt this point in life, I would be lost without my sewing machine! Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteIn their shop, I like the Winterland Reindeer-red. Reminds me of retro reindeer my grandmother would place on her dining room table around the centerpiece :)
ReplyDelete
