I love being able to work on several projects at one time. It lets me play with so many pretty fabrics in one day, keeps each step varied, and allows me to be super efficient!!! But it also creates lots and lots of stacks, in various stages of completion. Here's the stacks I am working on this week ;)
You might recall I shared that I am working on a new Happy Quilting Pattern that will have curves . . . We'll now I have Stacks and Stacks of Crusts and Pies to make into Modified Drunkard Path units. Let the creasing, pinning, stitching, and pressing begin!! Lucky for me, this Songbird Fabric line (comes out in May) by Fancy that Design House, is absolutely stunning, so I don't mind creasing, pinning, stitching and pressing over and over and over again :)
I also have this Stack of
Sparkle Star Paper Piecing units ready to do some Chain Paper Piecing. I found I really like "cutting out" the first step instead of trying to match the fabrics in the light. It just makes it go faster and allows me to really "Chain Piece" even though I am paper piecing, and that is the kind of Paper Piecing I really am starting to like!!! I am making a table runner with my
Starlite Sampler Scraps and it is just going to be so fun to have on the table this coming Christmas!!
And this fun Stack of blocks is just waiting to be sewn into a quilt top. This is for a new free tutorial I am working on :) I just had so many Low Volume scraps, I decided it was time to do something with them. It combines Log Cabin building with Chain finishes, my favorites!!! Hopefully, this will be released soon :)
And finally, there has to be a Stack that hasn't even been started yet, right ;) Remember at the beginning of the year when I said I was starting the
My Favorite Color is Moda Sampler , well, it is still sitting in a gorgeous Stack of Grunge just waiting to be cut into. But I refuse to take it off my "stacks in progress" pile as I really want to work on this It just might be a "sticking around" kind of Stack ;)
So how about you . . . what Stacks are you working on in your sewing space??
I'm intrigued by your log cabin blocks.

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the log cabin you are making!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the log cabin / chain tutorial - it looks interesting! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI don't have any stacks! LOL Maybe one day. I am interested in the log cabin building.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your log cabin blocks come together - the chain part caught my interest! Will be fun to see what you do with those curved pieces too. :o)
ReplyDeleteLet's see.... 2 QALs, string piecing, temperature quilt, more masks!!, a "COVID" quilt still in the works because ITS still happening. This is actually too many for me and I've had to put a few out of sight until I can get real progress made on the others. I look forward to the log pattern; then I can add it to the list!
ReplyDeleteAll fun projects, thanks for sharing the pictures. I do love that one you are doing that reminds me of a braid quilt, except for the corners. I had to study it for a bit to see how you were accomplishing that look. Will look forward to your demo.
