I am super excited this morning to share my newest Quilt Pattern in the Happy Quilting pattern lineup ;) It is called Flower Child and I just love it!!! And it has curves!!!! And after Nordic Nights, you all know now that these curves are fun :) And this pattern uses the same templates as Nordic Nights, so you are all ready to go!!!
Flower uses a Modified Drunkards Path block that allows for all of those pretty points!! The pattern uses a three pin method to sew the curves, and like I said, they are so much easier than you think they are going to be and there is an easy to follow curved cutting and piecing tutorial here that walks you through making the Modified Drunkards Path blocks step by step!! And it just about made my head explode, but I figured out all the pressing directions so that the entire quilt uses nested seams, making ie so much easier to get those perfect circles in the center of the blocks :)
And when it came time to quilt it I went with my favorite All Over Swirl. I am not gonna lie, this quilt has been sitting for a while waiting for quilting and finishing the pattern, so I just wanted to do something fun and fast, and I just love that it just adds to all the curves!! And of course, my Pearl 402 So Fine is still my favorite go-to color!!!
Like all my patterns, Flower Child has size options so you can make the quilt size that fits you ;) You will find 4 size options, a Baby, Lap, Picnic, and a King size. And like I mentioned before, it is Fat Quarter Friendly or you can use Charm Packs and Layer Cakes too for more fabric variety ;)
The baby size is only 4 blocks so it is a great place to start if you want a quick finish or you just want to practice some of your curve sewing before you jump all in :)
And just in case you don't remember from Nordic Nights, let's remind you on the Acrylic Templates!!! First off, there is a paper template in the pattern that you can use to make templates from Template Plastic or Cardboard so you don't have to buy the templates. With that said, these acrylic templates are awesome!! They are 1/8" thick clear acrylic, just like all of your quilting rulers and make cutting this quilt out so easy!!! And remember, these are a template for a Modified Drunkards Path block, so if you have a regular Drunkards Path Template, they won't work for this quilt, sorry.
So let's have a few reminders to sum it all up ;) Just like all my patterns, this is a full color pattern that can be printed in either page format or book format. It is filled with lots of wonderful illustrations to guide you along each step of the way. You are going to have so much fun putting this together ;) And of course, if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to email me ;)
And now . . . Let's Talk about that Share The Love Shop Sale!!!! I don't know if you recall, but I missed the Black Friday sale last year as I was out of town and promised I would do a shop sale in the new year!! And what perfect time to share the love that Valentine's week :)
