WIP Wednesday

Note *  If you are looking for the Aviary 2 Fat Quarter Giveaway you can find it here :)

In the last few weeks I have been trying to focus on working on some of those projects that seem to have fallen by the wayside.  Yippee Skippee for taking care of my UFO's :)  (Well a little bit at least, I still have lots of "secret" projects with "deadlines" so I squeeze these in when I can )  So . . . . .

I started looking up the 8 patterns from Block-a-palooza that I still have left to complete and quickly realized that I just don't see it happening.  So, I figured, maybe it is time for it to take a new direction.  Like a baby quilt direction.  I can do one block, some sashing, and boom, a spring time baby quilt is born.  I even thought of doing a plain block so that I can appliqué a name in the blank spot, what do you think????  I am hoping to finish this one up quick right after I make a final decision on the finish look :)

I finally pulled out my Happy Quilting Quilt-A-Long top and got it all basted up this weekend before going out of town.  Yesterday I got it quilted.  I tried another new little design,  Loops and flowers again but this times the flowers have a cute little center :)  I really liked the way it turned out.  All I have left is to attach the binding :)  Then I can post it for Blogger's Quilt Festival.  (Ya, I am cutting it close :)  Almost Done, Yippee Skippee!!

And remember that stack of HST's left from the the Happy Quilting Quilt-A-Long.  Well I turned them into an adorable pieced rag quilt.  I even made a tutorial for it. Just in case you missed it, you can click on here to find the link :)

I still have the Sugar Pop strips just waiting to be pieced and the holiday charms waiting to be turned into table runners.  Those will be the next projects I squeeze in (just as soon as I finish up these other 2, I refuse to send them back to the pile unfinished :)

The Intrepid Thread and Sponsor Giveaway :)

GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED

Welcome to The Intrepid Thread,  Happy Quilting's newest sponsor!!!   Julie opened The Intrepid Thread in March of this year and it is growing like a weed.  Seriously, her shop is great!!

The Intrepid Thread has lots to offer.  You can find fabrics in great lines from Moda, Free Spirit, and Riley Blake.  Julie has excellent customer service and takes care of each package personally.  She even gives them all a personal touch finishing them with a purple Intrepid Thread bow :)  Isn't it cute, I almost didn't want to open it.

But of course, I did!!!  Isn't the best part of getting a squishy package tearing it open!!!!  This is what arrived at my house the other day.  Oh yes, I loved tearing this package open.  Aviary 2, Yippee Skippee!!!!

One of my favorite things at The Intrepid Thread Etsy Shop are the Build Your Own Bundle options.  It doesn't get much better than mixing and matching your favorite fabrics to create an ultimate bundle that is perfect for you :)

And I love the Coming Soon section of The Intrepid Thread.  Isn't is so exciting to anticipate great lines like  Loulouthi from Anna Maria Horner, Prince Charming from Tula Pink, Kumari Garden Holiday from Dena Designs, 1001 Peeps from Lizzy House, Dazzle from Melissa Averinos, Lola's posies from Lila Tueller, Hoo's In the Forest from Doohikey Designs, Alphabet Soup Boy and Girl from Zoe Pearn.  Oh Yes, they are all coming next month at The Intrepid Thread!!!

And of course, the best part about Coming Soon lines is the Making Room Sale!!!  Right now The Intrepid Thread Etsy Shop has 20-30% off of it's current lines to make room for these new lines coming next month.  Don't you just love a great sale!!!!!!!!!!. Don't miss your chance to miss out on all of these great bundles on sale!!

Let me finish up by Thanking Julie and  The Intrepid Thread!!!!   I am so happy to have them as a part of Happy Quilting!!!

And . . . .  as part of their introduction, The Intrepid Thread is sponsoring a fantastic giveaway!!!   How would you like to get your own package tied up with that adorable Intrepid Thread bow??  And of course, it would be filled with 7 fat quarters from Joel Dewberry's Aviary 2!!!  Ya, I figured you would like that!!!

Bella Solids Parade

So have any of you been following along with the Bella Solids Parade over at 13 Woodhouse Road???  It is a lot of fun.  Each day a Bella Solid color is chosen and each day a guest picker and an expert picker selects 3 solids and 3 prints to go along with that color :)  Today is my day as the guest picker :)

My color was Orange :)

And these are the colors and prints I choose to go with Orange.

Bella Solids Kansas Plum, Bella Solids Peach, Bella Solids Black, Darjeeling Orange Manju , Silent Cinema Orange City Lights , and Impressions Charcoal Blossom

It was so fun to get to look through endless options of fabric for specific prints to go with the colors that I choose.  It gave me a whole new concept on how to choose colors, and I really liked it :)  So if you haven't checked it out, seriously, click on over to 13 Woodhouse Road and join in the fun :)
