So . . . since I can't focus any of my thoughts . . . I thought maybe I would pick your thoughts today. So, tell me, what is your favorite color combo's?? 2 color, 3 color, 4 color, whatever. What colors do you tend to put together over and over again and always love them??
I am excited to see what your fav's are!! And maybe I can play with some fabric in your favorite colors to help turn my day around. Nothing makes me smile like playing with fabric :)
Sorry Melissa....your picture didn't come through for me.
ReplyDeleteRed & white is hard to beat and moves to being a threesome so well with so many colours. My current favs are yellow or turquoise. Have that nap & then you will feel better! xx
ReplyDeletePurple and Green. If I didn't feel like it would be totally ridiculous, my whole house would be some version of purple and green.
ReplyDeleteMy fav combination is a split-complementary. For example, purple against yellow/orange and lime green.
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving aqua and tangerine right now...haven't jumped on the Pantone emerald bandwagon yet :)
ReplyDeleteBlue, coral and yellow have been rattling in my brain for the last week or so!
ReplyDeleteAlways find myself leaning towards blue/green and red/orange for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI am just starting a blue and lime green quilt for my daughter, I really want to add some pink...not sure yet. I love all colors, and sew for others so I rarely pick the colors. I do tend to stick to an odd number of colors, not sure why.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not the only on.who loves purple.and green! I kind of want to make a purple and green quilt with a grey background.
ReplyDeleteI have navy, lime and white on the brain lately. Sorry to hear you are having a ho hum day. Bake some cookies, that always brightens my day. :)
ReplyDeleteBlue and grey, aqua and grey, greens and blues. :)
ReplyDeleteNow, take that nap!
I am a pink and red girl - and I am about to begin something with pinks, reds and aqua.....yummy! My last project was pink, red and orange. I have a problem.......
ReplyDeleteMy "favorites" are always changing. Right now, I'm like Trudi, I'm collecting navy and lime. I just really want to do something with Navy, lime and white.
ReplyDeleteI've been drawn to navy, bright blue, grass green, and gray lately. I also really like citrus colors--yellow, orange, and lime with bright grapefruit pink.
ReplyDeleteI always love yellow, red, and green. To me they are happy and warm.
ReplyDeleteI love all shades of yellow and orange together with white!
ReplyDeletePink, pink, pink. I've been on a bit of a pink bender lately
ReplyDeleteI love blues, rarely pair it with the classic yellow though.. actually I DID for my chick quilt for McCall's
ReplyDeleteI like primary colors. gosh.... I don't know..... whatever the fabric tells me to be paired with :-)
Grey and brights are my colour go to. Right now I am finishing up a grey/purples/greens.
ReplyDeleteMost favorite i've done so far is purples and tourquoises, but i also love pinks and reds, red/white/black...did all 144 sylvia's bridal sampler in that. Mostly not into muted colors or earth tones but my friend is and wow, does she do beautiful things! Black and dark greys as backgrounds are lovely for the contrast.
ReplyDeleteblue, green and purples pop up a lot over here :)
ReplyDeleteI like to use purple, pink, blue are my favs, teamed up with a touch of yellow and green! Thanks! Have a wonderful "springy" day!
ReplyDeleteI am a two color person, mostly anything with black in it, sometime red and white. Why is this I am thinking, because I am color challenge.
ReplyDeleteBlue, green and brown. Sometimes I live dangerously and add black, white or gray - LOL! I always use a range of blues and greens though. Looking at your color wheel, I'll go from almost purple all the way up to greenish-yellow. I guess I'm most comfortable on the cool side of the wheel.
ReplyDeleteOk. I admit to loving pink. I am also drawn to grays right now.
ReplyDeleteDark brown, medium/coffee brown, cream, and peach.
ReplyDeleteRight now? I love aqua with yellows and navys.
ReplyDeleteHey I know how you feel - I get that all the time. Too many ideas - too hard to take them in any one direction, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI really love red-orange-yellow!
I think navy and coral are a great color combo. Add grey or lime and turquoise and it's like a summer beach towel. Love!
ReplyDeleteI love all kind of red-white-blue color combinations and I like dark brown and light pink/light blue too :-)
ReplyDeleteI am on the same wave length as Quilt Kitty...I love red and white....blue and white...green and white. I find you always have a fresh look; and you can add to it easily.
ReplyDeleteKansas Troubles! Luv the blues and burgandy and greens and golds...they are just so homey :O)
ReplyDeleteBlues and limey greens (water colors) with a touch of orange.
ReplyDeletelavender, blue dilly dilly - a song long ago, sticks in my mind and i use the combo, adding yellow for a three color. i add green and gold for a four color combo. odd, because green has always been my fav color.

DeleteBlue, white & yellow! Crisp and happy colors. I like warm combo (red, orange, yellow) and cool combos (blue, purple, green) and rainbows!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I throw all sorts together lol, there's no particular rhyme or reason to it either...
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I always come back to aqua/teal. I tend to use yellow and recently some brown with it.
ReplyDeleteI am working on a pink, yellow and orange quilt that I love. It has a purple border
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I am going to be zero help. I don't have a goto color combo. I do however love aqua, red, and pinks. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love red. red with white, red with black, red with aqua, red with navy. I like to wear red, aqua, hot pink (and usually with black). My daughter gets me thinking of OTHER colors - her faves right now are aqua/turquoise and coral OR yellow and gray.
ReplyDeleteI like red and green. All different kinds of reds with all different kinds of greens.
ReplyDeleteLight blue and navy. And aqua with just about anything.
ReplyDeleteTurquoise and lime green!!!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved purple and recently I've been seeing it paired with lime green. It's really growing on me a lot. Check this picture out for those colors in a quilt/bedding set http://www.interiordesignblogs.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/purple-and-lime-green-comforter_large.jpg
ReplyDeleteI am stuck with Turquoise and white right now, and I am going to add in some black and gray too.
ReplyDeleteI use a lot of lime green. I mix it with orange or purple, or both. I just think they are happy colors and they always make me smile. I was at my LQS one day showing her the latest quilt I had completed and she asked if I realized that every quilt I had made contained lime green. I had not noticed. I guess I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI've made several quilts in various shades of red and green, although never the Christmas versions. It's a combination that never fails to make me happy.
ReplyDeleteSo, I was browsing your site the other night, and saw your whirly jig quilt. Then saw the one you did in the pinks where you did them in strips, cut off part of one side and sewed it to the right side, before you used the template. I meant to pin those directions becuase I LOVED the design, but now can't find it anywhere! Can you direct me to the right month/date that you blogged about it, please! Thanks,
ReplyDeleteMy nephew has asked for aqua, navy, and orange, which is going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGenerally aqua is my favorite right now--with crisp white is nice, or fresh and springliske with pink and green.
Currently I am working with yellow, organge and red with ash background and it is just beautiful. I never used these combination before and plan do to more.
ReplyDeleteAlso blues and greys are my fall back combos.
I always come back to blue-aqua-teal-lime-green combo,
ReplyDeleteBut the scrappy ones are my absolutely favorites!
My favorites are orange with green and purple! Hope you have fun today!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... While green is my favorite color, I haven't used it much. Thinking about all of the quilts I've made, I don't think I've never repeated a color combo. I'm just finishing a quilt in royal blue, light blue, lime green, and grey, with a border of bright yellow. I am really liking that combo! I love all color and there are so many fabulous combos out there, how could I choose just one?!
