I was happy to find on Saturday morning that the technicians found that just the screen was damaged and it could be fixed. It was returned to me that evening and I was told to keep the plastic cover on for a day while everything sets. So this morning, I took off the cover only to find these three huge bubbles in the screen. I can not begin to explain how totally annoying they are. So call up the techs again and hopefully this time it will come home with no bubbles.
I am missing my Instagram. And yes, I will admit I tried getting on it Friday night after the kids went to bed to catch up on the Instagram feed for the day and then had to stop when I got a glass sliver in my finger.
Ah well, hopefully only one more day ;) And the penguins would say, just Smile and Wave ;)
Edit - It's back and it is much better :) Now it can be a happy day :)
We bought an used tablet from my husbands friend. Didn't even have it a week and the girls dropped it on the cement in the garage! Nice spiderweb coming out of corner. We were told it would cost more to fix it than to go buy a new one! Everything still works. And the crack isn't as huge as yours was.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson dropped mine on the floor and the one side is shattered but I can still use it. I have to travel 30 miles to get it fixed. So until I can get a day to just do what I want, it will stay where its at and only have one user! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so annyoing. Hopefully the second fix will be a good one. I know the feeling well. My boys dropped my ipad on to concrete last summer. Unfortunately for me there was no repair option so that meant a trip to the apple store and paying for a replacement, which thankfully is not as expensive as buying new. Now I've lifeproofed it (and my phone) and while the cover is clunky it has taken several knocks and all is still as good as new.
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I hope the next fix is better for you.
ReplyDeleteWe bought a tablet for our grandson and purchased a warranty with it. It has been dropped twice and screen broke both times. We had to send it off for repairs which took longer, but there was no cost to us. Learning how fragile these are, I would always recommend the warranty coverage.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, you must not take chances with your fingers Melissa, or we'll all miss out on your new creations.
ReplyDeleteHope you get a good repair on the screen this second time.
You can catch up on Instagram just by visiting the site in a browser on your computer - http://instagram.com/
ReplyDeleteAs long as you are logged in you can see the feed. You just can't post new pics.
Nor do tablets and metal barrettes - just this weekend, ours was dropped & it landed face down on a metal barrette. Very similar cracks to yours:(
ReplyDeleteClearly you are not alone, not sure it makes you feel any better. I had mine all of ONE day, had it under my arm, walking my dog on a leash just to the car, he pulled, jerking my arm forward and mine hit the pavement. I had to get a whole new one, along with an extremely protective cover - the corners need to be protected - I never carry it under my arm. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteAhh, that is so frustrating! I hope they were able to fix it correctly this time!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Melissa. :-( I'll bet that wasn't a cheap fix, and ouch: the glass sliver!! Hopefully you'll be up and running tomorrow! Just wanted to let you know that I lOVE your posies quilt! I'm going to be on the hunt for that magazine! :-) Have a wonderful week!! Hugs, H
ReplyDeleteMy husband dropped and cracked the screen on his Ipad just like you did. He sold it on ebay for $300 (broken) and then went out and bought another. The broken ones sell really well on ebay - I'm not joking.
ReplyDeleteBummer. I hope they can sort it out.
ReplyDeleteOh no, that is very unfortunate!
ReplyDeleteA tip I've learned as a speech therapist with children--get a heavy duty case like life proof or otter box (lifeproof is much slimmer) instead of the regular Apple cases. Hey, it's not just my kids who drop it, though, I admit to having dropped it myself!
