I do not like to garden at all! Luckily my husband is really good at it and generally takes care of it. I try to help with weeds and stuff, but that's about it!

ReplyDeleteWe love gardening, both plants around our home and in the vegetable garden. We have over 200 hosta plants around our property in about 10 different varieties. They make for such drama! In our vegetable garden I love to grow Roma or Amish paste tomatoes so that I can make pico de gallo, canned sauces and diced tomatoes to use all year long. My husband also grows the most amazing corn!

I like to garden, but I like it more in the spring than I do at actual harvest time! ;-) I love having fresh herbs on hand for cooking - they are low maintenance, add so much to cook, and save money to have on hand.

ReplyDeleteI have canned most of my life - love gardening - tomatoes being my favorite there. This year - we just put some tomatoes and cucumbers into pots. BLT's and creamy cucumbers and we are good to go. I also love growing plants. Have a yard full of them. Have to have my pretties. Coneflowers are my favorite flower. ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever I grew yellow squash and zucchini. The soil was too acid as I figured out later, so my production was low - less than 10 squash total! I learned a lot and will grow them again next year. The ones I did harvest tasted wonderful!

ReplyDeleteWe had a garden this year--first time in many years! Our tomatoes and cucumbers did very well--until the deer discovered they could nibble at the leaves that came over the fence!! Our zucchini--didn't do so well.
