Well, as of yesterday, our Jessi has arrived in Peru!!! She is serving an 18 month mission in the Peru Arequipa Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are so excited for her and so proud of this decision she has made to serve!!
And I thought saying goodbye might have been a little easier this time as we experienced this with our
son 2 years ago, , , but nope!!! It was just as hard and honestly, I think a little harder as we knew what we were getting ourselves into this time. This is us dropping her off at the
Provo Missionary Training Center a few weeks ago. Yup, no make-up left as we had all the emotions.
We are so very happy and excited for our Jessi girl, but it is just hard to let go. I am so grateful that to get the first picture and to know that she is now in Peru, safe and sound, and so excited to get teaching. So Dear Peru, please take care of our daughter. She has been so excited to come and serve in your beautiful country. I know that she is going to have so many wonderful experiences while serving in Peru!! And I am so excited that I get to chat with her each week over zoom, thank heavens for technology!! We love you so much Jessica!!!
And just so this post has some quilting in it . . .this is Jessi at her first quilt retreat!! This was so much fun. Love that this girl loves to sew still :)
I so get this! We want them to go; we just don't want them to leave...
ReplyDeleteI was always the "crybaby" when they flew the nest. It is very hard to see them so big and ready to learn and serve. The think I have to remind myself of... is that they are not going to the moon, so they are just at an 18 month sleep over, kind of like college. fortunately we have so many ways of communication. We are very lucky.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you shared
Wishing Jessi prayers and many blessings on her mission trip. She will be great and will be home before you know it.
