Now in Shops!!!

You all were so sweet when I shared my Roadside Harvest  by Corey Yoder that I made for Moda Fabrics a few weeks ago!!!  Thank you so much!!  And since so many of you loved these Cozy Up fabrics by  Corey Yoder I wanted to let you know that the wait is over as they are shipping to quilt shops everywhere ;)  Yippee!!!

And if you wanted to make the Roadside Harvest quilt just like mine, the Roadside Harvest Quilt Kit is now available as well!!!  The kit has the Roadside Harvest pattern, a Fat Eighth Bundle, the Buffalo Check yardage for the pumpkins, the green yardage for the grass, and the fabric for the Border and Binding.    It is a great value and an easy way to get started on this quilt right away :)   You can have it made up for this Fall!!

And speaking of Kits . . .  You might recall the Starlite Sampler Quilt I shared back in February . . . Well, it is finally in shops as well!!  This just became available this week, but it was well worth the wait ;)  And I have to smile every time I see the Starlite Sampler Quilt Kit   picture, because that is my quilt.   So fun!!!

The Starlite Sampler uses Sweetwater's new Christmas line, Red Barn Christmas.   And this line includes the cutest panel that is used to make all of the patchwork red and green blocks!!!   And I love that the other blocks include simple Applique ;)    Such a fun and fast quilt to make!!!  You could totally make this up in time for Christmas and wouldn't it just be the sweetest gift!!

It is just so exciting that fabrics are starting to catch up with their shipping dates ;)

And I am so excited for these two quilt to come home.   Such fun!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day ;)

Dear Germany

Well, this morning was all of the emotions :)  Today our son left to serve a 2 year Mission in Frankfurt Germany for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We are so proud of him.  This is something he has planned on pretty much his whole life and I can't believe it is here.

And I'm not gonna lie, it was hard to let go.    Like one of the hardest things I have done.    I know everyone warned me, but for real, kids grow up to fast.   Truly, this morning just felt like all of the  happy, exciting, hard, amazing, nerve racking, humbling, and joyful experiences of his life all came together.

So Dear Germany, please take care of my son.     He is so excited to come and serve in your beautiful country.  I know that while he is there with you, the experiences he will have will change him from a boy to a man.

And we are so excited as a family, to get to chat with him each week and to hear of all his amazing experiences and watch that transformation take place via zoom.  Yup, all the emotions.    We love you Spencer!!!

And Thanks for sticking with me through a more personal post today.  No quilts, but I just had to share this huge milestone for our son and our family ;)    And now I am off to go sew and sew and sew.   Does anyone else use quilting as therapy on emotional days??

Mystery Christmas Quilt Along!!!!

So did you see the announcement??  Fat Quarter Shop  is hosting a new Mystery Quilt Along, but this time, it is Christmas!!!   I just love sewing Christmas Quilts, so I was all in for this All the Trimmings Quilt Along.    This will be similar to the Bats and Boos Quilt Along that is just finishing, but ya, it is all in Reds and Greens and Christmas Goodness!!!

The All the Trimmings quilt uses a Layer Cake and some background fabric and finishes at 33 1/2" x 38 1/2".    You can find the Fabric Requirements right here.     I plan to make my quilt in the same Christmas Morning Fabric as the mystery quilt and will use a Grunge Black background (you all know I just love Grunge!!)

And of course, I always have to change things up a bit, so I plan to take that baby size quilt and times it by 4 to make a large lap size quilt :)   Super fun!!!   And of course, that means 4x the fabric, so I am using a Christmas Morning Fat Quarter Bundle instead of a Layer Cake ;)   Yippee for lots of Christmas Fabric Goodness!!!

So what do you say . . . want to Mystery Quilt Along???   The first block will be released on September 7th, and we will be finishing by October, so you will have a brand new Christmas Quilt to enjoy this season!!!

I hope you are all having a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!

July Sew Sampler Box!!

Playing a little catch up today ;)   My July Sew Sampler Box arrived a little bit ago, and I was just so busy with summer ending and school starting that I am just now getting to enjoy all of the quilty goodness inside!!!!    So, without further ado, here is my July,  Sew Sampler Box and the theme is Wild and Free and it is just incredible!!!

As soon as I saw the exclusive Petunias Quilt Pattern, I knew I wanted to make it just like it is on the cover!!!  Isn't that navy background just gorgeous with the reds, whites, and greys!!!   And I love that those Reds, Grey's and Whites, are actually from Christmas Morning by Lella Boutique!!  Yup, it is Christmas Fabric but it is so gorgeous, it totally works in an all floral quilt :)   This one has already been set aside with Navy from my stash to get cutting into next!!  I just love it!!!

And the notions this month are so great!!!!  Everything is all about cutting, so fun ;)  First off, I am always in need of new Rotary Blades and I just love the Olfa Endurance Blade ;)   There is nothing quite like a brand new sharp blade in your rotary cutter!!    And then when you go to cut with that brand new sharp blade, you can ensure your rulers don't slip with the  Betty Bits.  These little dots adhere to the back of your rulers and keep it from slipping, so great!!!   And when you are done your chain stitching, you need a little thread trimming, and the Stringblade's are perfect for just that!!!

And a new month means a new block ;)   Here is  Block 4 of the Bright Side Quilt along!!   I changed around the fabric placement just a bit, but I like the way it makes a patchwork X through the center of the block ;)   And I am starting to think I want to make a second block of each month in all basic grunge in neutral tones.  I think that could give is a really cool look.  What do you think??

And just a note,  Sew Sampler boxes currently have No Waiting List!!!  So you can sign up right away and get a box on your door step next month!!! So fun :)

And that is July  Sew Sampler Box and because I was catching up with this one, I don't even have to wait that long for August's box to arrive.  Happy Mail Day Soon ;)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!
