January Sew Sampler Box!!

Wow, January has come and almost gone ;)  What a whirlwind this month has been so far, but oh so much crazy fun!!! And with the end of the month comes a new Sew Sampler Box as well!!     The theme for this month is Hats off to You! and it is just such a cute box filled with Lori Holt goodness :)

How adorable is that Haberdashery Quilt Pattern!!!!   So can't wait to make this!!!   And it will be just delightful in the new Mercantile fabrics by Lori Holt.   Her fabrics always have such a vintage charm to them.   And I just love the saturated colors, so fun ;)

And the notions for this month are some more Bee in my Bonnet goodness!! This Busy Bee Thread Cutter will be great to go on my travel sewing machine!!   And the Bee Binding Holder will keep bindings nice and straight.   And I love this new Quilty Tools 1/4" Plus Ruler from Riley Blake.  It really is great for everyday use.   And yes, I an always use more Schmetz Needles ;)

And just a note, there are currently some openings for Sew Sampler boxes, so no need to wait;)

And that is January Sew Sampler Box.  I am so looking forward to February, it is going to be a fun month of lots of projects.

Happy Quilting!!!

Start with Scraps :)

I just love working with scraps!!!   And ya know, I have enough of them to make at least 25 quilts, so it's best that I start with scraps sometimes ;)   And this is what was left of my scraps after cutting.  Scraps making super small scraps, so fun!!  And at this point, these scraps will go into animal beds for our local shelter, I can't keep smaller than 1" as my scrap bins would explode.

And I just love my AccuQuilt for making quick work of cutting scraps.  The idea of cutting so many 1 1/2" pieces is a little overwhelming, but with  AccuQuilt GO! Log Cabin BOB Die  it makes cutting a breeze ;)  And aren't these strips just so pretty in reds and pinks.  Perfect for Valentine's day coming up soon :)

And a little pop of purple (because you know I love purple!!) is making a great start of these blocks.   And yes, I totally fussy cut the flowers, they are just so cute.   Can't wait to see this come together ;)

So how about you . . . do you like piecing with scraps???

Back Home!!

Sorry things have been so quiet this last week.  I was away teaching at the Canyonland Quilts retreat in beautiful Moab Utah.  I normally try and schedule a few posts when I am out of town, but life was busy, so here I am after the fact :)

The Canyonland Quilts Retreat was oh so much fun!!!  Mom and I taught 5 classes and did a trunk show in 3 days and enjoyed meeting so many amazing quilters.   And the gals that put this retreat on are just amazing!!!  They had the sweetest gifts, yummiest food, and happiest faces to welcome all the quilters each and every day.   And guess what . . . we even had 2 finishes from the A Star is Born class!!!

Mom and I loved teaching newbies and sage quilters alike.   We learned curves in the Nordic Nights and Blossoming Stars classes, tackled angled seams in the Summer Breeze class, and had fun playing with scraps in the Scraptastic Stars class ;)

And a real treat this retreat . . .we got our sweethearts to come along.  They spent the days playing in Arches National Park and then we got to spend the evenings with them.  It was just great ;)

Wan't to take a quilting class from me??  Check out my Teaching Tab for everywhere I will be this year teaching, you could even cruise and quilt with me!!!
