Back to ABC's :)

Yesterday I finally pulled back out my ABC Blocks after setting them aside for a little market sewing.  I love making these blocks.  They are so fun and easy and provide instant gratification.  I was able to sew up E and F, two awfully easy letters to make as there are no angles ;)

I actually finished them up so fast I decided to work on a little off shoot project I had been thinking about.  Ever since I made this block, I have been thinking how fun it would be to make a Crazy Patch letter.   So I grabbed some green scarps and started slashing and sewing.  Before long,  I had an adorable Crazy Patch A.   Yippee Skippee!!!  I plan to quilt this up and make it a cute mini for a special friend.  Any suggestions on the quilting??

Oh, and another quick question, would any of you like a tutorial on how I do this crazy patching??  It is a little bit of a anything goes kind of method of piecing, but I can share some of the ways I go at it.  Would that be helpful??

  2. I would love a tutorial on this. It looks fun! How about doing some big stitch quilting around the outside and embroidering inside your A, like they do on Crazy patch quilts?

  9. That is a great idea to make a scrap alphabet. I can't wait to see what you come up with on the quilting. I still haven't quilted my ABC quilt along from Blossom heart quilts. I would like to join you with this ABC scrap quilt.

  15. Yes! I definitely want to see a tutorial of the ABCs. :) Please and thank you! BTW, on my wish list is something that can't be found in any store: I want INTERRUPTION FREE TIME (2 days would be FABULOUS!) to spend quilting. I started my first two quilts almost 2 years ago and had to put them aside after having some surgery. When I'd finally recovered from that, I was so far in the hole with everything else, sewing got put on the way back burner. I have only been able to pick it up twice recently, but my craft room is a mess, which prevents me from finding everything I need when I need it. lol I'm a wreck! I'm going to have to get in there and organize a bit before Mother's Day so I can be ready for my wish to come true!! :)
