ReplyDeleteI think I've always liked Utah meadowlarks. They have such a distinctive wearable song. My grandpa used to take us grandkids hiking and every time we heard a meadowlark call, he'd copy it and sing, changing one of our names with it "Rachell is a pretty little girl!" It always made us feel special and closer to nature.

I think it is a toss up between hummingbirds and cardinals as to which bird I like best. In cold times the cardinals are my favorite eating the seeds I put out and when spring and summer are here, the hummingbirds around their feeders are such a joy to watch. I just love both.

I love Humming Birds. Every few years I make a trip to Tuscon just to see all the species. Boy they are so lucky there. Next up are Grossbeaks and Woodpeckers.
