For this month's tone on tone blocks, I wanted to add a few more "darker" blocks to the mix, just to balance things out. So For the large version of the block I used Bella Navy and Cobalt. And for the small version of the block I used Bella Terrain Iris and Crocus.
I have had these Tabslot Drunkards path templates for years, but never used them as I tend to always make my Drunkards Path blocks with skinny sides. These made cutting the blocks out super slick. Then I used my favorite 3 pin method to make the Drunkards Patch blocks and they went together like butter. We used this same method in the Summer Solstice QAL last year and will be using it soon for the Roundabout QAL. You can see details on this 3 Pin Drunkards Path method here ;)
And before you knew it, I had a bunch of Drunkards Path units all ready to be sewn into blocks. The possibilities are endless on layouts, but I decided with fun rows, just to keep the same feel I have had with other blocks in this quilt.
And for the small block, I missed it up just a bit by rotating the block direction on every other row. It just adds a fun little bit of pop. And I can't believe this is my last block for this awesome QAL!!!
And now I just have to sew the blocks into a quilt top!!! Yippee, I can't wait to see these rainbow blocks come together in all their Bella Skill Builder goodness ;)
Have a Happy Quilting Day!!!
