  127. I have always wanted to try basket making. It would be so much fun to be able to go outside and collect vines or twigs to use to make baskets. I used to hear stories about people who lived in my area years ago who would make nice baskets out of alders. Then they would go around to people's houses and sell the baskets. I have a kit with instructions to make a small basket but I have not tried it yet (too busy quilting, I guess).

  132. Gosh I see so many "I want to learn to knit" comments on here! This was me years ago--I finally did it and I'm so glad!! It's fantastic! My random hobby to try? Probably quilling. No idea why other than it's fascinating! I also always wanted to try making pottery. Woodworking is another but I'm not sure I'll ever get past quilting and knitting!

  133. There are several things I have always wanted to try but never have, like making cheese and cottage cheese, doing quilling. Until recently, I had always wanted to learn to spin wool into yarn, but last month my kid came for a visit and brought a friend who taught me how to!

  153. I have never tried canoeing or kayaking--or is there a different word for what those people do on the Charles River in Boston? That really has an appeal to me. It seems like swimming--solo, contemplative, you would be competing only with yourself if you chose to compete.
