  48. My favorite holiday tradition seems to be cleaning my house so I can sit down and quilt, then cleaning my house after I quilt, which leaves me free to quilt something else, and then I have to clean again. . .

  56. Caroling. I grew up caroling Christmas Eve to my great aunts and it warms my heart that my family is willing to get together one night during December and carol to older members of our community.

  58. My favorite tradition was to take my kids to see the Nutcracker ballet. We stopped going after they left home. I decided this year that I enjoyed it so much that I bought tickets to take my best friend and her husband. I can hardly wait! Merry Christmas!

  59. Oh my, she had my heart with the Little Lou Lou’s quilts project. I am a pediatric ICU nurse (all ages, including premie’s discharged from NICU) and have seen the love and appreciation our patients had for quits given to them. Now that I’m retired, I make quilts and donate them to my dear PICU patients.

  83. When the kids were little I made an advent wreath of felt with little stuffed felt ornaments and symbols of the season. They picked one from the bag every day and then stuck it on the wreath. After they left home I put it up all assembled for several years.

  84. I make a big batch of Finnish Pulla. A sweet cardamon bread. Freeze most of it and give some away and eat some. Very good buttered and a cup of coffee.

  89. I set up my plastic needlepoint village that I made way before I got married. My daughters played with it and now my granddaughters like to play with it.

    Also preparing comfort items for homeless persons in the area. I sew up drawstring bags and friends and family donate items to fill I.e socks, T-shirts, masks and a snack and drink.

  105. We have the younger grandkids over for a sleepover and do a bunch of Christmas activities. This year we made sugar cookies, had an indoor snowball fight, played bingo, put up Christmas decor, watched a movie and stayed up till midnight. Big fun!

  114. Decorating the Christmas tree together as a family even though our 2 daughters are grown. We watch Christmas movies and have snacks. I treasure these times. Also when all us girls get together to make candy, cookies, fudge, etc. What an enjoyable day together it is. And bonus - we all have goodies to eat. And watching the Christmas classic cartoons on tv.

  119. One thing I do every year is to make homemade Buttermilk Pralines. My mom saved the recipe from an old Ann Landers column in the newspaper. They are the best, and I've never had a problem with them not getting hard.
