ReplyDeleteArtichokes and asparagus. I've tried them both more than once but absolute failures. I love them but hate to pay store prices when I've seen artichokes growing in my brother's yard and we used to pick asparagus from the irrigation ditch.

Peonies. I would grow peonies. I grew up in in NE Ohio in farm country. We had the most beautiful red peony bushes and my great grandmother had a white one. Their scent is like nothing else. Unfortunately I live in San Diego now.
