GO! Love You Gnome Much Quilt and Free Pattern!!!

I am so thrilled to be sharing a new finish today!!!  And it's just so cute!!!   I was so excited when my good friends at AccuQuilt asked if I wanted to make a project using their new Gnome Accessories die, and after making this original Gnome Quilt, you knew I couldn't pass up making girl and boy gnomes!!!   And I have been all about curves lately, so I decided to do a little Drunkards Path with a stitch and flip added to corner to make frames from my gnomes.  And here is my Love You Gnome Much Quilt and there is a free PDF Pattern that you can download right here :)

I had so much fun picking fabrics and cutting out applique for each of these little Gnomes!!  Each couple is a little different, as you can easily mix it up changing hats, beards, braids, and bodies.  And of course, cutting with AccuQuilt is super fun and fast and super precise.  Isn't that little gnome couple just to cute!!!

I used a Lighthearted Layer Cake by Camille Roskelley for Moda to make all of the applique and arches, and the background is 9 assorted 1/4 Yard Low Volume Prints from Lighthearted.     And secure stitching all of the applique in black really makes each of those gnomes and hearts just pop!!   I am just so happy with how this came together, it's just to cute!!  The Love You Gnome Much Quilt finishes at 42" x 42" so it is a great baby quilt size or you could use it as a wall hanging in the nursery or bring it out at Valentines day!!

And I know I have said it before, but I just love my AccuQuilt for cutting applique!!   Can you imagine having to trace and then cut out all this applique by hand.   And you can attach the fusible before you cut, so it is super easy to layer and stack your applique to each block an then fuse it and stitch it.   Below is a list of the dies I used, see which ones you already have in your die library and maybe add a few more ;)

And when it came time to quilt it, I decided on an all over curly q.  I love all of the texture it adds to the quilt.  And yup, you can quilt right over top of the applique ;)   It just ties everything together so nicely and of course, I used my favorite 402 So Fine for the perfect blend!!!

And that is my Love You Gnome Much Quilt.   I hope you love it as much as I do ;)   Isn't this picture AccuQuilt took of it just so precious!!!  And if you want to make your own, you can download the free PDF Love You Gnome Much Pattern Here.   And when you are done I would love to see it!!!    You can share a picture on social media with #happyquiltingwithmc and tag me at @happyquiltingmc or you can always email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com.  I can't wait to see your Love You Gnome Much Quilts!!

Oh, and fun little side note . . . if you want to see this shared on YouTube, you can visit the Christmas in July video.  It is shared towards the end of the show at 32 minutes in :)  It is just so fun to see your projects loved so much, just makes me smile.

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!

  1. Super cute Melissa! I've loved Gnomes for a long time although, I have NO idea why. I actually bought that die back when it was released. Sadly, I never have used it or many of my others. It's not because I don't like them all, but more about my health and not doing much sewing at all. That, and my brand new machine gives me fits to attempt using it. Sent it for the company to check out. Came back with a glowing review. NOPE! Nothing changed. Manager of store said it was already sent to the factory so they can't send it again. :( Did NOT like that answer at all.
But this is really cute Melissa and yes, I saved the pattern. Thank you
