Today I am thrilled to be sharing my newest quilt finish with you featuring the gorgeous Nature Sings Fabric Collection by Lori Woods!! I just love Poppie Cotton's collections, and am always so happy to sew with them. As soon as these prints arrived at my house I knew just what I wanted to make with them!!! I have had a Dizzy Days Irish Chain quilt with a dark background on my "to make soon" list ever since I finished the pattern, and I knew this collection would be just perfect for it!!!
This Dizzy Days Irish Chain quilt is so much fun to make and it is Pre-cut friendly as well as Scrappy friendly. All you need is to add some background fabric. I used Blue Ribbon Dark Blue Country Confetti for my background fabric and I just love how it makes all of those beautiful prints and colors just pop :) And the pattern also has option for a scrappy binding, which is always my favorite. How fun are those pops of colors around the edge!!!
And while this might look a little crazy, it truly is a great beginner quilt with basic quilting techniques. You are making a "Single Irish Chain" quilt, but with a twist as all of the "chain pieces" are different sizes. And the fun thing is, the random layout of the blocks means no two quilts will look alike. your quilt will be your own original Chain of Scrappy Goodness.
And when it came time to quilt mine, I opted for all over echoed meander. I love how this gives the look of a twisting path weaving through the quilt. Perfect for our Nature Sings quilt ;) And I just love how my navy thread pops on all of those pretty prints!! So great.
And like all of my Happy Quilting patterns, the the nice thing is, the Dizzy Days Irish Chain Pattern has multiple size options, so you can make whatever size you like. This is the twin size, but you can make it from a baby size all the way to a king size ;) And again, it is an amazing pattern if you need to do some scrap busting!! I already plan to make it again in scrappy reds and greens for a Christmas quilt ;)
And that is my Dizzy Days Irish Chain Quilt! I hope you have enjoyed this post and consider making your own Dizzy Days Irish Chain Quilt!!! And if you do, I would love to see them!
