New Happy Quilting Pattern - In Your Neighborhood!!

It's day 5 of my new Happy Quilting Patterns and today it is all about . . . In Your Neighborhood!!! And this pattern is a remake from clear back in 2013 but it has undergone some major revisions so it is pretty much new. And you are going to love making these Modern "neighborhood" blocks!

The In Your Neighborhood can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version. And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $6.50 and the Paper Patterns are $8.00! The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

In Your Neighborhood is a confident beginnr skill level pattern. It uses 1 Layer Cake and 1 Jelly Roll or what I have named a Jelly Cake!! They can be the same fabric as shown here, or they can be different. ust know that the Jelly Roll strips are mostly used for the "roads" and the Layer Cake squares are mostly used for the "houses". It is really fun to play with all the fabrics to decide just where everything fits perfectly. Techniques used in the pattern include basic piecing in a pieced log cabin style, and I just have to say, I just smile everytime I am piecing a block and see how it all fits together :)

This In Your Neighborhood quilt is made with Ladybug Whimsy by Gingiber for Moda. This fabric line will be showing up in quilt shops in October!! And guess what, it has Metallic hints in the prints!!! You now how I just love the shinny ;) I used the Black and Green prints for the "roads" and the pink, gold, and low volume prints for the "houses". And it worked just perfectly splitting up both the Jelly Roll and Layer Cake. And for the background I used a Speckled Metallic White-Gold, because why not add more shinny, it is a perfect fit!! And of course, you can always use a dark background as well, I don't have one in the works yet, but it is on my "to make someday" list for sure ;)

And I had so much fun quilting this one! I wanted to keep the modern look while making the piecing really pop. So I opted to keep the "roads" unquilted, and then did tiny swirls all throughout the background. For the houses, I just quilted straight lines and I just love the texture it gives. It really came out just the way I was hoping.

In Your Neighborhood unlike all of my other Happy Quilting patterns, does not have mutliple size options. This was actually the biggest problem with the previous version of the pattern was that because of the attempted multiple size options, the cutting was extrely confusing. It was also hard to do a lot of sizes as the layout was very specific. So in the end, I picked the size that was the most popular, and went forward with it. And I am so happy I did becaues the rewrite with one size is so much easier to cut and keep track of all of the pieces!! You are just going to love making this quilt ;)
