Surrounded at the Cabin

So this last weekend we spent up at Bob and Barbara's (my amazing in-laws) Newly Finished Cabin.  This cabin has been a Work In Progress for 3 years so it is very exciting that it is all done.   And I figured, since there is a sewing studio in the new cabin (love Barbara!!!) it needed a Work in Progress as well ;)  I went through some of my long term projects and choose my Surrounded Blocks that I started way back here.   So they are now my new Cabin project (along with my Selvage Stars but I forgot starch so I didn't work on those)  and I am super excited to work on them whenever we are up enjoying this new space!!!  And I even got 3 blocks done this weekend!!!

This is the temporary "work station" at the moment.  My sweetheart is actually taking up some sewing tables and other sewing goodies today, so I will be sure and get some good pictures of the space the next time I am there :)

But the best thing about this space that I can share today . . . The View!!!!   Isn't that just absolutely gorgeous :)   That peak that you can see off in the distance is Angel's Landing at Zion National Park.  So pretty!!!  We are so very blessed to have such a peaceful place to play and now sew as well!!!

I can't wait to get back up there (it's about 45 minutes from home) and enjoy the beauties of nature while sewing up a storm ;)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!

July Sew Sampler!!

July just went by so fast!!!  But I always love the end of the month because it means I get the newest Sew Sampler Box, and July's is a great one!!!!   This month's theme is Patio Picnic and I just love it!!!   Especially because we have been enjoying a lot of picnic's recently ;)

It's starts out with a beautiful Shades of Summer Petite Rolie Polie.  I love how happy these prints are, just so fun!!!!  And I totally see a new picnic quilt in the line up, because this Patio Picnic Pattern is just to cute!!   And it would go together real quick as well ;)

And the notions for this month's are all new and upcoming!!!   First up, this awesome Triangles on a Roll Paper that is actually made for Jelly Roll Strips.  How cool is that!!!!  And I am super excited for this Magic Pins Sampler pack as I have heard nothing but great about these Magic Pins.  It will be fun to try them out.   And finally, Hugo's Amazing Tape will so come in handy to keep all of the loose ends on spools nice and tidy.

And last, but not least . . . a new box means a new Block!!   .This year we are working on the Greatest Hits Quilt and this block is Track 4  ;)   I love how this block turned out.  I went a little more scrappy in the corals and really like it!!!  I think I will continue to do a few more with a "scrappy" look to them ;)   It's fun to see how this is just evolving as we go along!

And just a note, if you are wanting to get in on the new year of Sew Sampler boxes you have to get in line.  There is currently a waiting list as the box subscription is full.   But hopefully the wait isn't to long.  (I have been told new spots open up each week!!!)

And that is the July Sew Sampler Box!!!  Time to start a new picnic quilt before summer is all gone ;)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!

Works in Progress - Charming Baby Remix's

So remember how I shared I am making here, here, and here . . . Well today I am excited to share some more progress.  I have 5 Quilt Tops Done, 3 Quilts with the blocks all made, and 2 More being cut and pieced.   So today, I thought it would be fun to share the Charming Baby Quilts Remixes Blocks that are all made ;)

 To The Moon - Remix
First Up . . . The To the Moon blocks.   There are 35 of these all pieced and I just love the Soft Blue Speckled Background!!!  It really makes Alexia Abegg's not yet released, Golden Hour Charm Packs just shine.  I can't wait to get this one all sewn together and see how "grown up" it is going to be :)

On The Move - Remix

And next up, you remember how I was using some Kona Rainbow Charm Packs for some colorful rainbow goodness. . . well here are just a few of the colors in the rainbow all On The Move!!!   Seriously, I just need to get these sewn up into rows like yesterday because I can't wait to see it all in rainbow order ;)

And finally, my super sized,  Twinkle Twinkle blocks!!!  And can I just say, I am so super thrilled with how these have come together ;)   I just love the large size, and how perfect is this fabric!!!!  I just love the Grey Apricot and Ash Panel centers and the Grey Small Plus  for the Star Points.   They are just so great!!!   And the Apricot and Ash Layer Cakes are making such a fun background.   Seriously, another that has to be sewing together fast, and with only 8 (very long) seams to do just that, I am sure it won't be long before I share this finish!!!

So that is a little of what I have been working on in the last few weeks!!!  And I was all excited for some soon to be un-interrupted sewing time when the kids were supposed to be going back to school in 2 weeks, but ya . . . school start just got delayed today.  So now we all get to enjoy one more month of Summer!!!   Here's hoping we all make it, tee hee hee!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!
