Jolly Bar Row Along!!

So remember back here when I said I was going to do the Jolly Bar Row Along???  Well, it's started and is well under way and I just realized, I was a little behind.  So I sad down and started making blocks.

I started with the Sparrow Blocks.   So cute!!!

Followed by the Arrow Blocks.  These only took a minute to make ;)

And the Hear blocks followed soon after that.  I just love how fun and fast these blocks are!!

And I just couldn't stop, so I moved on to the Butterfly blocks.

And finished up with the Arrow blocks.   Wow, what a fun afternoon of sewing!!!

So now all my blocks are made, and I am ahead.  Maybe I will have the quilt top put together by the end of the Row Along ;)   So fun!!!
There is still lots of time to join in, because just like me, you can catch up super fast as these blocks are just a breeze to make and so much fun!!!  You will need the Jolly Bar Book, Volume 2,and 1 Jolly Bar and some background fabric and you are ready to go!!!!

And this is my planned layout, you know I always have to change things up a bit ;)   I am using Winifred Rose by Christopher Thompson for Riley Blake Designs and I just have to sew up the rows now.   Should have this done very soon :)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!   I know I plan to sew and sew and hopefully sew some more ;)

New Family Pics

No quilts today.  Today I am getting a little more personal and talking  :)  This weekend we took a quick trip up to Salt Lake to see my side of the family.  My little sister was in town from WA, and it was the first time we have all been together in like 7 years!!!  So of course, we needed some family pictures ;)  Saturday morning we met at the park and my sister took pictures for 2 hours and did an amazing job!!!    This is my family :)   My parents, siblings, their spouses and children.   There are 32 of us all together and I can't begin to express how wonderful it was to get see them all!!!

These are my parents.  Aren't they just so cute!!!  I am so grateful to them and love getting to visit them.  My dad is always there for me and my mom is the first one I call with questions of life, big or small.   I love them!!!

And can you believe my sweetheart, Jacob and I are going on 20 years of Marriage.   We celebrate our 20th anniversary this year and words can not even begin to express how grateful I am to him and how much I love him.

And how my family has grown!!!   When I first started this blog I only had 4 kids and they were all little.  In fact, I just barely realized the other day my profile still said, mom of 5 "little" kiddos.  I edited it realizing they are not my "little" kiddo's anymore.   We are just soaking up as much family time as we can as I know they will soon be leaving for adventures of their own.   Isn't family just the best!!!  I just love these amazing children of ours and am so proud of each one and the person they are becoming.

What a blessing it was to have such a wonderful weekend spent with family.  It is always so wonderful to have the opportunity to reflect on how important family is and the love that we share!!!

I hope you all have a very blessed day and are able to share it with the ones you love ;)

June Sew Sampler!

Well, here we are half way through July, and I just realized I never got to share my June Sew Sampler Box  :)    I blame summer . . . but it's worth the wait because this box is just filled with wonderful quilty goodness!!!   Handpicked for you was the perfect theme for the month :)

It's starts out with 5 beautiful Fat Quarters from Fig Tree & Co. new All Hallow's Eve line.  And even through this is a Halloween line, you can totally use these beautiful oranges and green in any fall festive project ;)  And how cute will they look in that adorable Orange You Glad pattern!!!  I love the flying geese with the oranges, so cute!!!

And the notions for this month's box are a whole mix of great!!!   First up, this adorable macaroon storage container.  I just love this little guy!!!  I have already started using it to store some of my tiny pins, so fun!!!   And you can never have enough rotary blades so this Fiskars 45 mm Blade was a wonderful find ;)   And finally, this Spot On Magnify Lens will be great for classes, as I often have students with trouble seeing their ruler markings, especially those 7/8" ones ;)

And with a new box also means a new Block!!   .This year we are working on the Greatest Hits Quilt and this block is Track 3  ;)   I have to say, this is one of the big reasons this is so late to be posted, and it wasn't even a hard block.  I just had to make the time to sort through my scraps to find a fun and funky low volume background that matched.  Isn't that just great!!!

And just a note, if you are wanting to get in on the new year of Sew Sampler boxes you have to get in line.  There is currently a waiting list as the box subscription is full.   But hopefully the wait isn't to long.  (I have been told new spots open up each week!!!)

And that is the June Sew Sampler Box and now we only have to wait like two week's for July's!!!  Talk about a little silver lining :)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!

Bloomtopia - Finished!!!

It's the final day of the Bloom-Topia Quilt Along hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop and I am thrilled to be sharing my finished quilt!!!!  This has been such a fun quilt to make and I am so excited with how much was raised for  Make a Wish Foundation :)  I just love participating in Fat Quarter Shop's annual charity QAL as not only do I finish with a beautiful quilt, but it also benefits so many wonderful people!!!

I did not do the 2020 Pieced Backing, just a basic one so I didn't bother to take a picture of it.  But if you want to do the original backing, you can find the Backing Pattern Here.    My layout is totally different than the original pattern so the original backing would not have fit ;)  And there are links at the end of this post to all of the alterations I did, just in case you want to make your Bloomtopia quilt with the same layout as mine ;)

And when it came time to quilt mine, I decided on an all over loose feather.  Mostly because it is super fast, and this was a super big quilt that I quilted all of yesterday.   So a quick and pretty design was just the trick.  And I just love all of the beautiful texture it adds to the quilt!!!

I can't even begin to say how much I have enjoyed this QAL!!!  This is my 6th year participating in the annual Charity Quilt Along (2015 Snapshots, 2016 Crossroads, 2017 Patchwork2018 Clementine, 2019 Threadology, and this year 2020 Bloomtopia) .   And I have loved it every bit as much as the previous years and now I just get to look forward to next year's !!!!

But before we start looking to next year, there is still a little fun left for this 2020 Bloomtopia Quilt Along!!!  Both Sherri and Chelsi, and Pat Sloan are acutioning off their Bloomtopia quilts and all the funds raised will go to Make a Wish Foundation.  Isn't that so great!!!  You can see all of the details of the auction at the Jolly Jabber :)   The auction ends July 25th and the winners and fundraiser results will be announced August 1st :)

Be sure to share all of your Bloom-Topia finishes on social media with #bloomtopiaquiltalong!!!    I can't wait to see all of your quilt tops!!!!   What an amazing QAL and here is to looking forward to 2021's Charity QAL!!!!

And just to make it easy to find . . . Here is a list of all the places to find my alterations

Thanks for popping in today ;)  I hope you have a very Happy Quilting Day!!
