I love decorating eggs! And over the last (less than) 10 years, it's been super fun to hide those eggs for my nephew to find. He gets just so darned excited when he finds an egg! Then he likes to hide the eggs for us to find, but he gets so excited by that, that he ends up showing us where the eggs are! I don't want him to get too old for that...

Since we don't celebrate Easter, I love to get together with family and close friends for Passover. It is always a fun evening.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was coaching, I used to take teens & college kids hiking in the forest where I had hidden eggs - it was a tough hunt that everyone loved!

ReplyDeleteWe don't really have any traditions now, but when we were kids we thought it was magical to get those chocolate eggs with pink icing around the outside and our names on them. It was great! And I like having ham (instead of turkey, which I don't like!) :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat I love the best about Easter is having a late morning brunch with my loved ones. I adore breakfast and whats not to like if you are allowed to combine breakfast with lunch?! The potential! As a matter of fact: I should perhaps consider introducing a brunch for Christmas as well!

My favorite Easter tradition is going to the sunrise church service. We usually go to a later service. And I love eating speckled eggs after arriving home. What could be better than having speckled eggs to munch on and some polka dot fabrics?

ReplyDeleteSince the kids are grown, we don't do much for Easter anymore. I do remember dying the eggs and baskets of candy. My husband asked a few years ago if I was going to dye some eggs (kids have been gone about 10 years). They never grow up!

ReplyDeleteI grew up dying eggs and having an egg hunt. My daughter is only three, so we are still trying to find our own traditions for her, but it definitely involves finding eggs - either in a traditional hunt, or following clues in a scavenger hunt (which is what my husband grew up with).
