ReplyDeleteWhen I learned how to make a quilt (35 years ago!), big stitches were not in vogue for hand quilting. And all these years later, I still have not tried it, but I would like to! I do like the way it looks -- but haven't had the time for handquilting lately.

ReplyDeleteBig stitching is on the 2017 'Try It' list. I learned to quilt years ago and learned to hand quilt with the smallest uniform stitches possible. I didn't really enjoy it, but new technique, so who knows!?

ReplyDeleteMy 89 year old mother has big-stitched her quilts out of necessity. She really can't quilt anymore, but has a few items that still need to be quilted. I have them and I plan to big-stitch them just like she would have. I would love to win that thread.
