Diamond Trails Quilt!!

 I was so excited when Stephanie, from Fancy That Design House, asked if I could make a sample of her Diamond Trails quilt ;)   Stephanie always has such beautiful fabrics and her quilt designs are so fantastic!!!  I was aboslutly blown away by the design of this Diamond Trails quilt!!  It is so modern and unique with it's large floating diamonds and adjoining strips.   This quilt is made with Stephanie's new Wellspring collection  and it is the perfect compliment to theis stuning quilt design!!  

I just love all of Fancy That Design House fabrics, and was really loving the bold color choices in this line!  Those deep Rust, Gold, and Black prints just pop!! And yes, I know the quilt design looks a little intimadating.  But truly, it is a fabulous pattern that will walk you through making the quilt step by step.  I was so happy when everything just fit together so nicely.  Really, such a great design and fabulous instrucions.  Kudos to the pattern designer for all of that angleed quilty math!!  

And along with the beauitful colors, the Wellspring  prints theselves are just so pretty!!!   Stephanie always does such a pretty floral design in her prints ;)   The quilt is Jelly Roll Friendly plus a few extra yardage cuts ;)  It finishes at 56" x 74" so it makes a great large lap size to cuddle in!!  

And when it came time to quilt it, I wanted to add to the trail effect, so I did loose wavy horizontal lines across the quilt.   I I just love how it gives so much flow and texture to the design and I think it goes perfectly with the Modern feel of the design!!   And you all know my favorite 402 Pearl was perfect for this quilt ;)

And  that is my Diamond Trails quilt ;)  I am so happy that I got to make this quilt!!  Truly, I was a little nervous when I first saw the design, but it really was not as hard as I thought it was going to be.  I just took it one step at a time, and wat thrilled with the results ;)  Such a fun quilt to make that was totally different from my normal quilting projects.  Isn't it just so great to sew outside your norm sometimes!
