Almost Done

So, do you remember my Bees Knees WIP for my Grandparents . . . well, it's almost done!!!  Which is good, considering they will be receiving it at our family Christmas party that just happens to be tomorrow night :)  Sounds normal, right ;)  The beginning of the week was improv piecing, and then Tuesday I started quilting up a storm.

I am having so much fun with combining designs for backgrounds.  I don't know if this qualifies as "quilt graffiti" but it sure is fun.  I just love how it is constantly changing so I never get bored of doing the same thing over and over ;)

Now, all that is left is to bind it ;)  That's on the list for nap time and then hopefully, a full reveal tomorrow ;)

Have a Happy Quilting Day!!

Snapshots Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop

I am getting so excited for the Snapshots Quilt Along in 2015!!  I can't wait to sew along with Fat Quarter Shop and today they are sharing their Introduction Video, the first video in a year long series of Snapshots Quilt Along Videos ;)

On the 15th of each month Kimberly will release a new free block pattern along with a how-to video.  These blocks are so adorable and each represent candid moments in life that makes us happy.  To benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Fat Quarter Shop is asking that you make a $5 donation each time you download a block pattern.  You can make Donations Here ;)    And at the end of the Quilt Along, Fat Quarter Shop & Moda Fabrics will each match up to $10,000.00!!!!

Ive got my Daysail Fat Quarter Bundle all ready to go!!!  I loved working with this line when I made the Bonnie's Smooth Sailing Quilt for Market, so I am super excited to be playing with it again!!    If you want to Quilt Along using Daysail as well, Fat Quarter Shop has Quilt Kits and Baking Kits available that will ship out in February ;)

You can see more detailed information about the Quilt Along at the Snapshots Page on Jolly Jabber or you can check out the Jolly Jabber Intro Post that went live today ;)    If you are Quilting Along, be sure to share your progress on your favorite social media using the hashtag #fqssnapshots.  And you can also follow along with some favorite bloggers that will be sharing their progress on the 15th of each month, so there will be lots of Snapshots Eye Candy along the way ;)

It's Up and Christmas Chocolates

I wanted to update you all that the ABC . . . Read With Me quilt tutorial is now up on the Moda Bake Shop.  So if you were wanting to download the free tutorial you can find it here :)  Thanks again for all of your sweet comments on this quilt and patience with the tutorial link :)

And now . . . on to the weekend happenings.  Nope, no quilting this weekend . . .   my machine is still getting it's annual checkup so it was the perfect time to crank out some Christmas Chocolates.   I started making Christmas Chocolates with my mom 15 years ago.  Now I make them with my family.
It is so fun when all of the kids get involved.  The little ones throw centers in the chocolate for dipping and the older ones help decorate them.  I do all of the dipping and most of the filling making. And the sweetheart is the all around helper to everyone.  So fun!!!

We make Chocolate Truffles and Mint Truffles, that my sweetheart insists on having football shaped so he can decorate them with his favorite college teams.  We also make Caramels, Almond Joys, Pecan Turtles, and English Toffee.

It was a super productive weekend and we managed to get everything dipped and put into tins ;)  Now it is time to start making up some plates for friends and family ;)

Wish I could send chocolates through email.  But if you happen to be in the neighborhood of Cedar City Utah, stop on by and come try some ;)

Have a Happy Quilting  (or chocolate making, in my case) Day!!

Read With Me quilt I posted yesterday.   I can never say thank you enough for your comments, they just mean so very much to me.  And as an update:  I know you are all wondering why you can't find the tutorial.  Don't worry, you aren't looking in the wrong place.  You can't find it because it hasn't been posted yet.  I am so sorry.   I am trying to get ahold of the posting gal at MBS and hopefully it will be up real soon ;)    So for now, just keep checking back and thanks for your patience with this hiccup.  You don't have to search or anything, when it is posted it will be right at the top of the Moda Bake Shop.

Update - The Post is now up and can be found right here :)

And now . . . We need to pick a lucky winner of the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!!!   Thank you so much for all of your entries and comments on my patterns!!!  That was a lot of comments and they were so fun to read!!
