Splendid Sunday!!!

Wow, can you believe it!!!!  Today the 100th block of the  Splendid Sampler is being shared!!   It certainly is a Splendid Sunday!!!   So, let's get to those last 3 blocks that I have left to share ;)

First up, is the Fleur de Lei block designed by Lynn Harris.  I had so much fun with this block.  It reminded me of taking a class with a local Hawaiian to try to teach me their needle turn applique method used to make gorgeous Hawaiian quilts.   Ya, this machine applique was a bit easier for me to do ;)

And next up is the Four Corner Spinwheel block designed by Kimberly Einmo.   Doesn't this just remind you of those fun little pinwheel that you used to make as a kid and pin to the eraser of a pencil.   I used to play with those for hours ;)   And of course, I just love putting this together with all of those fun flying geese and wonderful points.  So fun!!!

And finally, the final blocks to share is the Centered block designed by Kate Spain.   And so of course, I had to make it purple!!!   Another wonderfully fun block to make with lots of fun points and plenty of purple prints.

And wow!!!  Just Wow!!!!   It still kind of seems surreal that it has been a year and we have gone through 100 Block!!!   Amazing!!!!

But of course, there will still be more Splendid Sampler fun to share ;)   I mean, I still have to put the top together right ;)    And . . . There just might be a giant celebration on the 14th and there just might be  lots of giveaways to go along with that celebration.  And that just might be Terrific Tuesday Giveaway Day, so there just might be double giveaways . . . Just maybe :)

I hope you all have a very Splendid Sunday!!!

Star Light Star Bright Mini

With Quilt Con just around the corner it was time to ship my MQG Mini Swap quilt ;)  And now that it is off to find its secret friend, I can share it here ;)    So here it is, my Star Light Star Bright Mini!!!  Isn't it just so fun :)

I decided to call it the Star Light Star Bright mini because that is just what it is.  Lots of Light fabrics making a wonderfully fun background and lots of Happy Bright Fabrics making those dancing stars!!  And just in case you are curious, I shared the process of how I made this little mini top right back here ;)

And when it came time to quilt, I decided on a straight line grid.   It takes a little while as these are 1/2" grid lines, but it is so totally worth it.  I just love the balance it gives to the random layout of the stars and chopped up background.

And doesn't it  add the coolest texture!!!   I just love it!!!

And here is hoping that my super secret partner loves it just as much ;)  I had so much fun making it up!!!  I just loved the happy bright colors, you can't help but smile when you are sewing with such happy fabrics!!!   I haven't done a swap in a while and this was just a joy to get back into them ;)   Here is to finishing up this mini and looking forward to many more!!

And I had my own special package arrive as well :)  How adorable is this mini!!!  Thank you so much Jerriann Massey!!!   It is so cute and I just love that the heart is a home.  Perfect for our family :)

Thank you so much for popping in today ;)

I hope you have a very Happy Quilting weekend!!!

Linking up this finish to Amanda's, Sarah's, and Myra's ;)

Jacob's Ladder Start!!

I have always wanted to make a traditional Jacob's Ladder Quilt so when the gals at Fat Quarter Shop emailed me that they were sharing a new Jacob's Ladder Quilt Pattern I was all over it!!!   I planned to work on this during my quilt cruise, but there wasn't a second to squeeze it in . . . so here is my start from the last few days.  Isn't it so fun!

I changed up the design just a bit playing with solids in red, white, and black.   The nice thing about the solids is that it allowed me to strip piece all of the 2 patches to be made into the 4 patches so they went super quick ;)

And I am using the same block layout and just altering the color placement of the reds and blacks. Now that I have all of the 4 Patches and HST made it is just like making bit 9 Patch Blocks ;)  They go together so fast and I just love seeing all of the points come together to form the ladder!!

Aren't the blocks so fun in this layout!!!  I just love how bold and crisp they are in the classic red, white, and black!!!

And a few seams later I have a super fun start to my Jacob's Ladder quilt ;)  This would be a cut little baby quilt, but I already have plans for this start.

One crisp, beautiful, Jacob's Ladder large lap quilt perfect for snuggling up in!!!   EEEkkk, I can't wait to finish up these blocks and get it all sewn together ;)

So I best get trimming up these HST and sewing up these blocks :)   Here is hoping I have a finish to share soon!!

And if you have had a Jacob's Ladder Quilt on your bucket list for a while, be sure to pop on over to the Jolly Jabber and check out Fat Quarter Shops pattern ;) You are going to love it!!!   And of course, there lots more blogger friends that have made their own  Jacob's Ladder Quilt so pop on over for lots of Jacob's Ladder quilt inspiration ;)

Thanks for popping in today.

I hope you have a very Happy Quilting Day!!

I know mine will be filled with some more Jacob's Ladder Block making ;)
