Spooky Box 2022!!!

It's that time of year . . . when the Annual Spooky Box  arrives in the mail!!!    This years box is filled with so much amazing Spooky Quilting Goodness!!!   Now just to get some of it whipped up before the end of next month ;)   

I was thrilled to find this super fun Petite 10" Stacker of Bad To The Bone by My Mind's Eye.   Halloween for me is all about "cute" Halloween, and these prints are just so fun!!   And that Scary Faces quilt . . . how adorable is that!!!  The little ghosts are my favorite, just so cute!!!   

And the notions that  Fat Quarter Shop sent along this month are just so fun!!!! It was fun to see what color thread and clips I got in my Mystery Bag ;)   And the Thread Conditioner will be great for a friend that loves hand sewing (we all know hand sewing is pretty spooky for me :)   And the SewTites pin in just to fun for Halloween ;)  

What a super fun Spooky Box!!!  And just fyi, the Spooky Box is still available but is going quick.   If you hurry, you can get your Scary Faces Quilt made in time for Halloween this year ;)

Leaves- HQM Quilt 24

  It is Week 24 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and this week I purposely left a small one, because I knew I would be at Garden of Quilts all week and just had Monday to get this done :)   And so that is exactly what I did and now I get to share my adorable finish . . . Leaves!!! 

I fell in love with this quilt the moment I opened it in the May 2021 Sew Sampler Box  and I whipped up the quilt in no time at all.  And then, ya know, story of the whole quilting marathon, it sat and waited to be quilted :)  Which is kind of sad, because it only took me a little bit to quilt, but again, also good, because I needed a small quilt for this weeks marathon ;) 

Leaves is an Exclusive Pattern for the Sew Sampler Box and uses a Joy in the Journey Rolie Polie.  I just love the soft tones and adorable prints.  It's perfect for a fall baby quilt!!! And wouldn't ya know, I have a sweet friend in the neighborhood expecting any day!!!  Sometimes, timing just works out perfectly :)  

And one of the big reasons I could quilt this so fast is that I used a traveling all over feather design.  I know this looks a little complex, but it really is super easy to quilt, and double bonus, super fast to quilt as well!!! And I just think the loose feathers go perfectly with the leaf design, just another set of falling vines :)  

And that is my Leaves Quilt!!  Now it is all tied with a ribbon and ready to be delivered just as soon as a little bundle of joy is delivered :)    

And that is Quilt #24 - All the Trimmings ;)  24 Down and only 2 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   It's so great to only see the last row empty!!!

Jelly Roll Ripples and Sew a Jelly Roll Day Giveaway!!!

 It's National Sew a Jelly Roll Day this Saturday and I am celebrating with my good friends at Fat Quarter Shop!!!  All week, there will be Jelly Roll Shortcut Quilts shared and fun Jelly Roll Giveaways!!  And here is my Jelly Roll Shortcut Quilt . . . Jelly Roll Ripples!!!

I truly love making the Shortcut Quilts with Fat Quarter Shop!!!  They are so fun to make, and come together so fast!!  This ripples quilt has such a great geometric design as well.  I love the rotation of the blocks and how it creates a lot of secondary patterns within the design.  

And a great geometric quilt always goes perfectly in a great classic color combo!!!   And you all know, I love making my Red, White, and Black quilts for my Alma Mater.    This quilt uses a Create Jelly Roll for Moda Fabrics and paired with a Bella Solids Red background, just classic perfection!! 

And when it came time to quilt it, I decided to take advantage of that geometric goodness and create an orange peel design in the blocks.   I didn't do wavy this time as the orange peel is a little small and wavy would get a wee bit messy.  And I can manage smaller orange peel without having to whip out rulers.  I just love the way it turned out.  And of course, a fun echoed paisley border just frames it perfectly.  

And that is my Jelly Roll Ripples Shortcut Quilt.  And you can find the free Jelly Roll Ripples Shortcut Quilt Pattern right here and make your own too!!!    It finishes at 62" x 82" so it makes a great snuggle size quilt.  Mine will be an Alma Mater quilt raffled off next weekend for Homecoming and will raise money for scholarships.  Just love that!!!
