March Sew Sampler Box!!!

I am so excited that we are rounding out March.  It has been a crazy month, but I am so happy that I think Spring is finally peeking through here in Utah.  (And now that I say that, it will probably snow again, ah well ;)    But it has been so nice to have warmer temps and everything is starting to bloom!!!  And with the end of the month, also comes a new Sew Sampler box !!!      And March's box had me all smiles for this Paris French Market themed box!!!

I was thrilled to find a new Chantilly Jolly Bar by Fig Tree Quilts!!!!  I just love Joanna's gorgeous fabrics and this line is so cute with those fun little strawberries!!!  Now I just have to decide if I want to use my Jolly Bar to make the super cute Sprouts Quilt Pattern that came with this month's box, or the bonus Brookside  Quilt Pattern that came with the Jolly Bar, or if I should just add it to the collection of fabrics I am using to make my all Fig Tree Dessert Sampler????   Decisions, Decisions???  But hey,  it's always fun to have these happy fabric decisions, much better than deciding if I want to clean the bathrooms or do the laundry ;)

And the notions that  Fat Quarter Shop sent along this month are so great!!!!  My daughter squealed when she saw these Tim Holt's scissors and claimed them as "hers".  She is left handed and likes the big grips that work for righties and lefties ;)  And this new Sew Hot Iron Rest from It's Sew Emma is just to cool!!!  What a life saver on your wrists.  And you know, I can never have enough Spool Huggers.   I love how neat and tidy they keep my thread bin ;)   Seriously, just awesome notions!!!

And of course, there is a new Barn Block!!!  And this is the last barn block of the year!!!   Can you believe it, it has already been a year of making Barn Blocks.  And I just love how this one turned out ;)   And the crazy thing is, my grey and black scrap drawers still look the same as when I started these blocks.   Ah well, scraps just have a way of multiplying like that.

I just love the finishing pattern that was sent with this month's box as well!!!  It has adorable little Star Cornerstones, and I have already pulled out all my solid black scraps to make them up ;)  This is going to be some fun tiny piecing!!!    I am working on so many quilts right now, but I really want to get this on finished, so I will add it to the mix and hopefully share a finish before to long :)

And that's my March Sew Sampler Box!!!  And I can't wait to see what April's box will bring, because its a brand new year for Sew Sampler, it's turning 4!!!!   And that means a new Sampler Quilt as well and I am so excited to see the new designs!!!!

And  just a quick note on the  Sew Sampler Box.  It's current membership is full.   There is a wait list you can get on and when more spots open up, you can jump in the Sew Sampler Box fun.   Until then, most everything I share is available at  Fat Quarter Shop, just not a few exclusive items.  Sorry about that.   I know there is talk of adding more membership but these boxes are planned 6 months in advance, so it will take a bit to have those advance orders come around ;)   Just wanted to let you know for those that have asked why they can't get signed up.

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!
I'll be back tomorrow with another quilt finish :)

3 New Sew Sampler Swirls!!!

This week I have been all about Sew Sampler box projects!!  I have had these "kits" sitting on my counter tops just waiting to be cut into.  So I finally dove in, and before you know it . . . 3 new quilt tops all swirled and waiting to be quilted!!!  I had so much fun just sewing these up.   Sometimes it is just so fun to sew up these projects that I can just follow a pattern and don't have to think about taking pictures or writing patterns.   ** Not that I don't love to do that for you all too, this is just a good mental break :)

I absolutely fell in love with this Mon Cheri Pattern from last month's Sew Sampler box!!    In fact, I loved it so much, it is what prompted me to finally get going on these!!  Isn't  that Whimsical Romance Fabric Line by Keera Job for Riley Blake Designs just beautiful!!!  It is the same fabric I used for my Moonstones Quilt that I shared a Free PDF of a few weeks ago and I think it is so cute in this quilt.  It is the perfect fit for this adorable pattern :)

And then from August Sew Sampler box, I whipped up this In Stitches quilt top.  Won't this just make the most adorable baby quilt!!   And when I say whipped up, it really does indeed whip up!!!   I had this top done in half a day, so fun and fast!!   The quilt uses a Stitch Jolly Bar and background, so it was super fun to just grab a background and get stitching :)

And last but not least, I finally started sewing up my Sprouts Sprouted quilt!!!  This is from the March 2019 Sew Sampler box  and last month I decided to use up some Sherri and Chelsi's Seashore Drive scraps (from a secret project, this line isn't available yet ;) and make up the Sprouts pattern, only I upsized the block, so it is Sprouts Sprouted ;)     And I love the low volume background, so fun!!!

So now, it is time to make up some quilt backs and get to some serious Happy Quilting!!!   Like seriously, I need a quilting marathon!!!   I think this makes over 20 quilt tops waiting to be quilted :)    Glad to be in great company with all you fellow quilters with a pile of "to be quilted" tops!!

I hope you are all having a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!

Sprouts Sprouted Quilt - HQM Quilt 1

Well, it's the end of Week 1 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and I am excited to share my first Happy Quilting Marathon Quilt.   It's Called Sprouts Sprouted and I just love it in all of it's Low Volume Goodness!!!  Isn't it just so perfect for Spring :)

This pattern is one of the Exclusive Patterns from my Sew Sampler Box back in 2019 called Sprouts.  I loved it when I originally saw it, and knew I needed to make it someday.   So when I had a bunch of Sherri and Chelsi Low Volume Prints left at the end of last year, I decided it was time to make up this quilt.  Only, I had more fabric than the pattern needed, and I didn't want to add to my scrap drawers, so I sized up the blocks to finish at 16" and I just love them!!!  The pattern now finishes at 65" x 80" so it is a great size to snuggle up with :)

Like I said, I used a lot of extra Low Volume prints that I had all from different Sherri and Chelsi lines for the background.  I just love how they all blend together so perfectly :)   For the prints, I used Seashore Drive :)  This is a brand new line that is coming out any day, but I had extras leftover from some secret sewing and I didn't want to fold it all back up again, especially when I knew it would go so perfectly with all of the beautiful Low Volumes.   And you know, I just love the purples in this line!!!

And I actually quilted this on Tuesday, and it has taken until now to get the binding on, gotta love how life gets crazy :)   I quilted it with large, open center swirls, and I just love how they add a bubble effect to the quilt.     And like always, good ol' 402 Pearl blended perfectly in all of these light and dark colors, love it!!

I just love how this one turned out and think it will make a beautiful wedding quilt, don't you!!    I tell you what, this totally just has me wanting to make more quilts with low volume backgrounds.  They are just so fun!!!!

And that is Quilt #1 - Sprouts Sprouted ;)  Only 25 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!
I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!

Starting some New Projects

I just love starting new projects!!!  I mean, how can it not be fun to contemplate all of your fabric options and pick that fabric that you know will be just perfect for the project :)   And I know it might be a little crazy, but I really do love the cutting part of a project.  There is just something so soothing about the sound of a rotary cutter going through stacks of fabric.  And I just love seeing the piles of  squares and rectangles grow!!

Yesterday, I cut up some of Sherri and Chelsi's Seashore Drive.   This is a line that isn't coming out for a while, but I was doing some secret sewing with it and had a good amount of leftovers and didn't want to bury them in the scrap bins.   So I was looking at it just contemplating what to make with it when I remembered the Sprouts Quilt pattern from my Sew Sampler box a while back.  I sew wanted to make this quilt, but decided when it arrived to add the Chantilly prints to my Dessert Sampler (that is turning into a really, really long term project ;)

Perfect combination for a new project!!   I drafted the pattern up in EQ8 as I wanted to upsize the blocks to maximize the amount of fabric that I had left and leave no scrap unused ;)   And I had lots of the low volume prints left as they were not used in the secret sewing project, so I decided on an all low volume background.  So excited to get stitching on this one!!  It is going to be so great :)

And this week, I also had the opportunity open up to start on a new Shortcut Quilt for Fat Quarter Shop that I will be sharing in the future.   It is a Jelly Roll friendly quilt and I knew right away that I wanted to use my  Folktale Junior Jelly Roll.  I just love the gorgeous fall feel of these prints and I think with the adorable Dear Stella hearts this is going to make the cutest baby quilt ;)

And since I knew that I could whip up a baby shortcut quilt in no time, I figured this was also another great opportunity to make another SUU Alma Mater quilt.   I just love working in red, black, and white!!    And I had these two Zen Chic Modern Background mini jelly rolls just waiting for an SUU quilt.  (I donate these to be raffled off at homecoming and fundraising events and the proceeds go to scholarships ;)    I am going to pair it with scrappy red strips and some solid black for the pop fabric.   I just love scrappy quilts, and scrappy SUU quilts, all the better ;)

So today will be another cutting day to get going on those 2 jelly roll projects.  But first, I need to empty my scrap basket :)   I was given this gorgeous rope bowl basket at the Zion Piecemakers Guild and I just love it!!  I knew right away it would be perfect for keeping my scraps while I waited to get them put away in my scrap drawers by color, which was way better than the throwing them in a pile on the floor in front of the scrap bins method I had used before :)  Well, it didn't take me long to fill it up.  I promised myself that once it was full, I would put it all away, so that is the plan and then I will start filling it again with the red scraps from above :)

So what is your plan today??  Are you starting something new, working on a WIP, or finishing something up??

What ever you are working on, I hope you have a very Happy Quilting Day!!
