ReplyDeleteLove Bear Creek. I get emails daily. My first row by row quilt is my favorite it reminds me how far I have come. I keep it on my bed.
ReplyDeleteI have a row by row quilt that I made. It has a lot of foundation piecing in it (not my favorite method). Anyway, I designed a couple elements of my own for it.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say it was an appliquéd quilt called "Rabbits prefer chocolate". Lots of wool chicks and chocolate bunnies with pieced back and lots of trims on chicks and bunnies.

ReplyDeleteI get Bear Creek's newsletter already.
ReplyDeleteI guess my pride and joy is the king size log cabin quilt I made years ago. I pieced it on the machine, but I quilted it by hand in 4 sections. Then I sewed it together and quilted the rest. It's still being used and in great shape!
ReplyDeleteI follow Bear Creek on FB, and I receive their newsletter.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, before Hurricane Katrina, I participated in a round robin with about 5 other people. We all started with a quilt block, sent of our blocks to the next person on the list, Ave so on, and about 6 months later or so received them back.
ReplyDeleteI never finished mine, and it got buried under 18 inches of Marsh mud for weeks. I dug it out, washed it, it is damaged, but in one piece! I'll never re-do it, but I still love it!

ReplyDeleteI’ve only made 4 quilts since I’ve only recently figured out that my sewing machine could handle making them. So my first pride and joy as silly as it may seem was my first small jelly roll quilt. It’s my pride and joy because I learned how to quilt with the help of some videos from a few accomplished quilters and if I would not have been able to make that first quilt then I wouldn’t have continued on this fun journey of quilting. My last quilt was a sampler I designed and made for our family to take on our new boat....everyone enjoys it so it’s a joy too. I had to do a lot of math to resize pieces for my blocks and each one came out the correct unfinished size so I was proud of learning to do that.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to Bear Creek’s newsletters and follow them on Pinterest...they have fantastic sales and offer a lot of free patterns. You can follow Blockheads frim their site too.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty proud of the modern sampler that I made at a retreat last year. It's not finished yet, but I went out of my comfort zone with colors and techniques, and I'm really happy with the result.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of the Aurifil thread gems is great. They are very tempting.
ReplyDeleteI am still a beginning quilter but I designed and helped my daughter make a quilt for my grandson that I guess would be my quilt/project Pride and Joy. mtmom57@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy pride and joy is the double bed size sampler quilt that totally hand pieced and quilted. It took 9 years from start to finish, but I still love it.
ReplyDeleteMy pride and joy is the Kim Diehl Geese on the Meadow BOM that I’m working on right now. I’m a big KD fan girl. ❤️
ReplyDeleteMy "pride and joy" quilt is the very fisrt quilt that I made 5 years ago. It was gor my parents 55th Wedding Anniversary. The center block was one of their wedding pictures I printed on fabric. I had each of my sister's and their families write their name and birthday on a block which I used in the quilt.
