Last of All : Corkscrew!!!

Today is the final day of new Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilts and we are finishing up with Corkscrew!!!   This has always been a favorite design of mine, and I am so happy that it got a make-over :)  I didn't change anything up in the design, I just spruced things up in the writting!!!  And you know, it's all about the rainbow of colors in this one    So here is the new  Corkscrew!!

The  Corkscrew Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Corkscrew is a great quilt if you want to work on lining up lots of pretty points!!!  It is Intermediate level and teachings so many piecing techniques.  You learn Half Square Triangles, No Waste Flying Geese, and Pieced Square in a Square blocks.    And when the blocks come together they create such an awesome secondary design!! It truly is my favorite part about this quilt design!!

This version of  Corkscrew is made from Texture Basics by Riley Blake Designs!!!  This design is really great for using Basic Lines, that way you have lots of colors to choose from and the piecing really pops!!     And laying out the rainbow of blocks is my favorite part of making this quilt!!!  It's just so fun to see it all come together :)  This quilt is Fat Eighth friendly, so you can grab a bundle and get quilting!!

I quilted this version of  Crokscrew with all over swirls.   I wanted to add lots of curves to this super geometric design.   And of course, you also get the texture and movement with all of those swirls!!  And when it comes to thread color, this one can be a little tricky.   You could totally use a grey, but I was excited to find a Twist Thread in the back of my stash that is actually a black thread and a white thread twisted together. (Sadly, I don't think they make it anymore)  It worked just perfect for the quilt and gave it an almost metallic look!!   So great ;)

Corkscrew, has multiple size options so you can make whatever size quilt works for you ;)   The blocks finish at 18" so they are a good sized block, and the bigger the quilt, the more colors you get to choose in your layout.   (And of course, you can totally do prints and it would look just as awesome!!!)     The pattern has 6 size options :  Baby, Child, Lap, Picnic, Twin and Queen.

And that is my new  Corkscrew quilt and Pattern!!!    And I just love it!!!   I hope you love it as much as I do and will make your own Corkcsew Quilt :)  And when you do, please share your quilt with me !!     You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

So are you ready to start making your Corkscrew Quilts???  Pop over to my Etsy Shop, to pick up your Patterns.   Again, PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Paper Patterns are $7.00,  until October 5th (Which will most likely be the 6th as I will be at a bike race all day :)      And while you are there, check out these other newly released and re-released patterns that are also on the same special ;)  Always good to save on shipping!!

Thanks for popping in again.  See ya tomorrow with more Happy Quilting Pattern fun :)

I hope you all have a Happy Quilting Day!!!

Another Re-Release : Simply By Design!!!

Today is another Re-Released Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilts and it is Simply By Design!!!   And it is now scrap friendly as well as fat eighth/quarter friendly!!!  You all know, I just love a good scrap quilt, especially when it is a rainbow scrap quilt!   This is the perfect design for breaking up your scraps into the rainbow and making them shine ;)     So here is the new  Simply By Design!!

The  Simply By Design Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Simply By Design is super Beginner Friendly and is so fun and fast to make with a basic block and a rotated layout with sashing ;)    It is all about the color groupings in this one ;)   Depending on the size you choose will determine how many color groupings you use in your quilt.    And they just look so awesome when then all come together!!   And did you notice, the scrappy binding even matches the color blocks!!  There is a tutorial here on how I do that ;)

This version of  Simply By Design is made from nothing but scraps, and every square is a different print, how fun is that!!!  I love that scrappy quilts also make great memory quilts :)  This design would also work just amazing for an Eye Spy Quilt!!    And I have another one in the works with a dark background that uses a Fat Quarter Bundle and I can't wait to share it :)  It just makes all of the colors pop!!!   So whether you are digging through your scrap drawers or grabbing a Bundle, this quilt will look awesome in whatever fabrics you choose!!

I quilted this version of  Simply By Design with echoed paisleys and swirls.   I wanted to add lots of curves to this super geometric design.   And it also adds lots of texture and movement, so great!!  It is also just one of my favorite designs to do as I just get to swirl and curl all over the quilt ;)

Simply By Design like all of my Happy Quilting patterns, has multiple size options so you can make whatever size quilt works for you ;)   And as I said, there are directions for using both scraps as well as Fat Eighths/Quarters.   The Fat Eighths are for the smaller size quilts as they are a smaller block ;)    The pattern has 6 size options :  Baby, Child, Lap, Picnic, Twin and Queen.

And that is my new  Simply By Design quilt and Pattern!!!    And Isn't it just so happy making!!!   I hope you love making your own Simply By Design Quilt and please, when you are done making it , share your quilt with me !!     You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

Re-Released Pattern : Square Dance!!!

Today starts the share of the Re-Released Happy Quilting Patterns and Quilts!!  First up is Square Dance!!!   This has always been a favorite pattern of mine and a quick and easy one to whip up in a hurry.   But ever since I wrote the pattern, I wished that the square were more interlocked.   So here is the new (and I think quite improved)  Square Dance!!

The  Square Dance Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Square Dance is super Beginner Friendly.  I know it looks a little complicated but truly, it goes together super fast with a basic block and then some pieced sashing to interlink the blocks ;)    I taught this at Garden of Quilts and we had some get the entire first row done in class, so great!!!  And the fun thing is, it can totally work for a masculine quilt, which we all know can be hard to come by designs that work for that ;)

This version of  Square Dance is made with Autumn Afternoon by Heather Peterson for Riley Blake Designs.   I just think this pattern fits a happy fall line just perfectly, and I love Heather's bright and happy Fall!!!   This is the Lap size and I used the extra Jelly Roll Strips to do a fun scrappy binding in the browns ;)    The quilt (regardless of size) is Jelly Roll Friendly, so you can grab a roll and get cutting!!!  And what is really fun . . .doing a dark background and a light accent.  I will be sharing a version like that soon and it is so awesome!!

I quilted this version of  Square Dance with lots of fun little wavy arches.   This is my favorite design to do with grids in the design.   And the grid has a slightly different size in a few rows of the design so I had wavy rectangles as well, so fun!!   I just love all of the awesome texture this adds to the quilt, I mean, how can you not love tiny quilting :)

Square Dance like all of my Happy Quilting patterns, has multiple size options so you can make whatever size quilt works for you ;)   And trust me, this is a great Go-To Baby Quilt when you need to whip up something for a new little boy or girl (but I love that the design fits a baby boy so well :)   The pattern has 6 size options :  Baby, Child, Lap, Picnic, Twin and Queen.

And that is my new  Square Dance quilt and Pattern!!!       And I am just so happy with this new Remake!!!  It is totally the design I had in my head originally I just needed some practice in designing to figure out how to make it work ;)    I hope you love making your own Square Dance Quilts and please share them with me when you are finished!!     You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

So are you ready to start making your Square Dance Quilts???  Pop over to my Etsy Shop, to pick up your Patterns.   Again, PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Paper Patterns are $7.00,  until October 5th :)    And while you are there, check out these other newly released and re-released patterns that are also on the same special ;)  Always good to save on shipping!!

New Happy Quilting Pattern : Andromeda!!!

And today I get to share another new Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilt and I am just so happy to share!!!   Here is Andromeda!!!   I have had so many people tell me how much they just love Nordic Nights, but wish it wasn't curved piecing.  So this is my creation to give you a similar feel, but without curves.   And once again, I got to teach it at Garden of Quilts and it was just so wonderful to see all of the different colors and prints everyone choose to make their blocks in :)

The  Andromeda Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.   (And if you are wondering why my quilt looks different than the cover . . . it's because the version I am sharing today is a sample for Moda and had to be sent off right away, so the original version got put on hold and is currently getting custom quilting . . . more on that soon :)

Andromeda is an intermediate skill level pattern, but once again, we had some beginners in our class and they did just great!!     The quilt is made with full blocks and half blocks pieced together in columns to give the shifted layout.   The pattern teaches you lots of techniques including quarter square triangles, half square triangles, stitch and flip, and tiny no-waste flying geese.  (we kept calling them goslings in class because they are so cute and little!) And the block goes together pretty quick once you have all your units made, so fun ;)

This version of  Andromeda is made with Morris Manor by Barbara Brackman for Moda and is the queen size.  This line comes out in March  and like I said, this quilt is already back with my friends at Moda getting ready to tour quilt shops all over!    The original version shown on the pattern uses Shimmer by Zen Chic and I will have it all finished up soon to share.  (there is just some secret market sewing samples that got bumped ahead in the long arm line ;)  I love the metallic in this line and the nuetral colors again just remind me of the Nordic Night feel ;)  The quilt is Fat Quarter Friendly, so you can grab a bundle and get cutting!!!  And the pattern is so versatile, it would look great in just about any bundle, I am thinking about making a Christmas version as well!!

I quilted this version of  Andromeda with beautiful feathers.   The feathers go back and forth in opposite directions and add so much beautiful texture and movement to the quilt.  Truly, I am so glad that I finally feel like I have feathers down, because they truly are a joy to quilt once you feel confident enough to quilt them.     And once again, my favorite 402  for the quilting, it's just the best, what can I say!!

Andromeda like all of my Happy Quilting patterns, has multiple size options so you can make whatever size quilt works for you ;)   I am thinking that Christmas version would be super adorable in a lap size quilt, just perfect to throw over the couch at the Holidays,  and maybe a dark background on it, so fun!!!     The pattern has 5 size options :  Baby, Lap, Picnic, Twin and King.

And that is my new  Andromeda quilt and Pattern!!!       And I am just so happy to share it with all of you!!!   I really think you are just going to love making this quilt ;)   And of course,  if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me ;)  And when you make your Andromeda Quilts I would love to see them!!!  You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

So are you ready to start making your Andromeda Quilts???  Pop over to my Etsy Shop, to pick up your Patterns.   Again, PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Paper Patterns are $7.00,  until October 5th :)    And while you are there, check out these other newly released and re-released patterns that are also on the same special ;)  Always good to save on shipping!!
